Block

You have been blocked from editing, for a period of indefinitely (until unblocked), for disruptive posts and "X will die" posts. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make constructive contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal the block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read our guide to appealing blocks first.

This user's unblock request has been reviewed by an administrator, who declined the request. Other administrators may also review this block, but should not override the decision without good reason (see the blocking policy).

Request reason:

I don't want anyone to die i just found it hard to believe he's actually dead.

Decline reason:

The reason for blocking is just not believable. You didn't say "I can't believe X is dead"; you said "I hope you fucking die". There's a big difference. An indefinite block is not an infinite block though, and I would be easily inclined to unblock at some later date. -- tariqabjotu 00:02, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

I have blocked you to prevent disruption such as this and this.

When you feel able to resume editing in a more settled manner, please ask for unblock as described above.

Unblocking admin note - No need to consult with me. If you feel an unblock is appropriate and any conditions needed are agreed, go ahead however seems right to you. FT2 (Talk | email) 22:06, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Another note after more checking - I don't have the ability to check whether these [1][2] are correct edits but overall the user seems to have a reasonable editing background and if nothing else is inappropriate, I'm inclined to assume good faith that the above posts were an aberration all else being equal. FT2 (Talk | email) 22:23, 24 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Per FT2's request, I'll elaborate. I'm not going to give a step-by-step process to getting unblocked -- there is none, as far as I'm concerned -- but it should come as no surprise that a pre-requisite for getting unblocked is recognizing what happened and why it was unacceptable. I don't need an apology -- I find them corny and needlessly forced -- but it was clear from your previous unblock request that you didn't understand where the problem was. -- tariqabjotu 20:52, 25 May 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I cannot think of a way to say this without sounding demanding, but since i have been blocked for over a year is that long enough for me to be unblocked? yawaraey (talk) 19:19, 2 June 2011 (UTC)

Decline reason:

No reason for unblock given FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 20:54, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I want to make constructive edits but i have been indefinitely blocked for over a year and i have idea what to say or do to get unblocked.

You'd need to explain what you did that resulted in your being blocked, and explain what your plan is for editing differently in the future. The passage of time, in itself, isn't a reason for unblocking. -FisherQueen (talk · contribs) 21:10, 2 June 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

I really do realize that making a false death threat that someone would die the next day, saying "I hope you all f---ing die", among other things was wrong, but is there any possible way for me to ever get unblocked? I've tried to get unblocked but i've trapped myself in a block that i can't figure out what to do or say to get unblocked from. And there is a lot of productive edits i would like to make that i don't think anyone would find unproductive.

Decline reason:

This request for unblocking has been declined due to your history of vandalism and/or disruption to this encyclopedia. However, we are willing to give you another chance provided that you can earn back the trust of the Wikipedia community. To be unblocked you need to demonstrate that you are willing and able to contribute positively to Wikipedia. You can do this by:

  • Familiarizing yourself with our basic rules.
  • Read our guide to improving articles
  • Pick any pre-existing article you wish to improve.
  • Click the Edit tab at the top of that article and scroll down past the message informing you of your block.
  • Copy the source of that article and paste it to the bottom of your talk page under a new top-level heading (like this: = [[Article title]] =) and save the page before you improve it.
  • Propose some significant and well researched improvements to your article by editing your personal copy of the article. Please note that we are not looking for basic typo corrections, or small unreferenced additions; your edits should be substantial, and reflect relevant policies.
  • When you are done with your work, re-request unblocking and an administrator will review your proposed edits.
    • If we (including the original blocking admin) are convinced that your proposed edits will improve Wikipedia as an encyclopedia, you will be unblocked.

If you need help while working with your proposed edits, you may add "{{helpme|your question here}}" to your talk page. Thank you. Courcelles 04:20, 13 August 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Yes, you can be unblocked once we are convinced that you understand the problem with your previous editing style. Please read WP:Assume good faith and WP:Civility and then confirm you understand why edit summaries like this do not help establish a happy collaborative atmosphere. I really didn't think he died. Also it never crossed my mind i might get blocked. And edits like this didn't help.

Accept reason:

I'm still not completely convinced that you understand why what you were doing led to this block, but at some point all we can do is hand you the rope and see what you do with it. If you ever make any kind of threat to anyone on Wikipedia again this block will be re-instated and it is unlikely you would ever be allowed back. Welcome to Wikipedia. It might not have been your intention, but your recent edit removed content from Surfin' on a Backbeat. When removing content, please specify a reason in the edit summary and discuss edits that are likely to be controversial on the article's talk page. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the content has been restored, as you can see from the page history. Take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia, and if you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 11:41, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. Before saving your changes to an article, please provide an edit summary for your edits. Doing so helps everyone understand the intention of your edit (and prevents legitimate edits from being mistaken for vandalism). It is also helpful to users reading the edit history of the page. Thank you. Muhandes (talk) 11:47, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I'm starting to think there must be a good reason why you remove all those reviews, but since there is no edit summary I can't figure out what it is. I'll probably need to revert my reverts later, please explain the reasoning.--Muhandes (talk) 11:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

discussion split moved back here from User talk:Muhandes. Please don't split discussions, it is best to answer where the discussion started.

I removed it because it was from a non-notable source. And i don't usually see any reason to add an edit summary. yawaraey (talk) 13:36, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries help other editors understand what you are doing, and it is good practice to always add something, unless the edit is self-explanatory, even if it is just "not-notable". In fact, when removing content it is almost required. --Muhandes (talk) 13:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
For the matter itself, I am not aware of consensus that http://www.laut.de/ is not notable, are these user reviews or a professional review? For firestream I found this archive and indeed these are user ratings and should be avoided. I added it to WP:ALBUM/REVSIT. Have you said something like "not a professional review" in the edit summary, it would have saved me some time. Best regards. --Muhandes (talk) 13:51, 9 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Seether Help?

Do you think you could help out with the Seether articles on here? It needs help from someone like you. Please respond on MY talk page. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 02:04, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to start off with, the actual Seether article needs a lot of citations. A few of the albums need citations. Some of Seether's song articles are being labeled just post-grunge when all of them really should be post-grunge AND alternative metal. Some of the album articles don't have that much of a variety of reviewers. On this Nine Inch Nails' album article, Broken (EP), the album has several reviewers such as Allmusic, Los Angeles Times, and Rolling Stone.
If the articles looked more like Broken (EP) I think that'd be good. It appears that you have a lot more experience with band articles then I do so it seems like you could help out with this.
(I'm a diehard Seether fan.) Please respond on MY talk page. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 14:42, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, well do you think you could help to any degree? I don't think there's enough info out there for the Seether articles to be like Broken (EP) but I know the articles could be improved more. --How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Autographs Contribs 20:52, 5 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I really don't want to get into this argument, but regarding this revert, it might be browser specific, but on my browser the extra width is really necessary or the sales split on multiple lines. Just thought you should know. As a matter of taste, I prefer sales and certifications to be in small type, but again, I am not going to get into this, and in fact I am not even going to watch this page. Best regards and happy editing. --Muhandes (talk) 09:58, 23 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There has been a misunderstanding. It is my fault. I must apologise. What I did in the pages of Qotsa and alex turner was a really bad joke. I wanted to see how long before someone would change it. I WILL NOT DO IT AGAIN. BUT: as far as Rubens Barrichello is concerned, I was DEAD SERIOUS. I AM A HUGE FAN. THE CHANGES WERE RIGHT. YOU CAN CHECK THE INDYCARS OFFICIAL WEBSITE FOR CONFIRMATION : http://www.indycar.com/ I WILL NOT FOOL AROUND AGAIN. BUT DONT RE-EDIT MY CHANGES IN THE RUBENS BARRICHELLO PAGE BECAUSE I FOLLOW HIS PROGRESS AND UPDATE THE STATS CAREFULLY. I HOPE THIS WILL END THINGS IN A PEACEFULL WAY. I DONT WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU AGAIN AND I WILL GIVE YOU NO REASON TO HEAR FROM ME. THATS A PROMISE. THANK YOU FOR YOUR TIME. "Here and Now" (Seether) Confusion

Is "Here and Now" by Seether actually a single now? Because someone put the chart positions of Seether's discography page. I don't know where they got them from because I looked on some of the Billboard pages for Seether and it doesn't show "Here and Now" on there. http://www.billboard.com/#/song/seether/here-and-now/28031276 Also, Seether's official website hasn't said that it has been released as a single yet. I am quite confused. How may I serve you? Marshall Williams2 Talk Sign Contribs 01:05, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
