Hey, I want to ask, how we can add picture to the page ? — Preceding unsigned comment added by 112.215.65.66 (talk) 09:52, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

J-20

Dear Materialscientist, please make me the official contributor for the Chengdu J-20 page. There are just too many vandalism going on that page. J-20 is a Chinese fighter yet many people including: Indians, Russians, and Westerns using biased and even abusive language to put down this very powerful stealth fighter. I have tried many times to protect this wonderful page and contributed many useful information yet some life less trolls always try to change it. They always try to add "western opinions" that are clearly bias toward this fighter such as claiming that:

1. China steal tech from F-117, which is impossible by any reason. 2. China copied F-22, again clearly false. 3. China got information from ex-Northrop Engineer and used it, this has some credibility but still. That information is for B-2 bomber which is totally different from a fighter. 4. China got information from Mig company, even though Mig CEO openly deny this rubbish.

5. China is unable to develop engine for this aircraft with no proof. I have debunked this by providing official information to confirm J-20's engine WS-15, yet these lifeless trolls still try to insist to argue.

Please Lock the J-20 page forever or make me the only person to edit this page. I promise I will do a good job and provide official unbiased information only. Another lauaguble thing is that these trolls try to say that China wants 117S engine from Russia, then they say that China officially deny this deal, then say that Russia approached China with its advanced engine but the sale is unsuccessful. If this is true, how can they say that China is "unable" to build a turbo fan engine for J-20? If their claim is that J-20 needs engine from Russia, then China should buy 117S from Russia right? 117S is Russia's most advanced engine and Russia approached China to sell it, by proofing that this sale is unsuccessful also prove that China does not need Russia's engine for J-20 and use domestic engine. These trolls' logic does not make any sense.

Again, please make me the only contributor for J-20. Other people will just troll, abuse and vandalism that page.

Thank you.

List of Android application stores

Hi! Could you please tell me what was the exact reason of deleting this page? What particular "unambiguous advertising or promotion" had been noticed there. Thanks! Chivorotsen (talk) 12:21, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Poor Translation

I edited the wikipedia page of the Soviet film "Irony of Fate" because I felt the translation of the full name was pretty bad. "Irony of Fate, With Light Fog!" is the literal translation, while "Irony of Fate, or Enjoy Your Bath!" is the most commonly accepted translation (check IMDB). I believe "С лёгким паром" is a colloquialism, while literally meaning "with a light fog" refers to the steam in the Banyas, which are Russian bathhouses. Alas, the translation I provided is the most widely known. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 99.225.7.2 (talk) 16:50, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. I have reverted myself, but changed bath to banya - although rare in English, it is still better than bath, which is usually used in other sense. Materialscientist (talk) 00:14, 4 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Warfare indeed

Sorry I got under your feet on the Psychological warfare revert. Too many vandal hunters, not enough vandals ;-)  Yinta 13:06, 28 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

AIV

When I file an AIV report, there's always a very good reason. You've closed most of mine correctly for several years for that very reason. If I can't rely on AIV anymore, I guess I'll have to contact admins on their talk pages when dealing with LTA trolls. Cheers. Doc talk 06:14, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please do. I am in the middle of a party, thus can't think for more than a few seconds. I don't recall this LTA case (even if I blocked one of his IPs). Materialscientist (talk) 06:38, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know - you're a busy man. Much respect! Trust me: this is an IP-hopping LTA vandal who deliberately hoaxes edits. Cheers :) Doc talk 06:42, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

31?

I noticed a lot of vandals get blocked for 31 hours. Just as an aside, because I'm wondering about it, where does that come from? It seems such a strange period. You'd expect 24 or 48 or something. Cheers,  Yinta 11:31, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

This is to shift the daily routine and prevent the same person from returning the next day. We also issue odd-looking long-term blocks to school IPs to open up holiday seasons, when the ratio of constructive edits to vandalism is higher. Materialscientist (talk) 11:36, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Aha. Got it, thanks.  Yinta 11:41, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for reverting the vandalism done to this page. However, there was numerous instances of vandalism before that by Triasone. Would you be able to undo all edits by Triasone and/or block them from it further? I don't have admin features and it's painstaking to revert that many single edits. Thanks!--YHoshua (talk) 12:27, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Nevermind, it looks as though you may have already done it.--YHoshua (talk) 12:28, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Cinder Cone RPP

Thanks! Quite why this is such a popular venue for people to add such educated dissertations on hi/fart/boob/etc is quite beyond me, but several of us will greatly appreciate the break! Cheers DBaK (talk) 13:58, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Softblock school IP?

Look at this page [1]. Not a single constructive edit and multiple last warnings. You contributed too. Clearly this won't stop and is a poster child for WP coddling of shared school IP addresses used for vandalism only. SBHarris 16:23, 29 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks, I've missed that IP. Materialscientist (talk) 00:48, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Materialscientist,

The page Musvida, which you deleted recently, has been recreated multiple times by the same user. Can you delete the page again and warn/block the user? Thanks. Sosthenes12 (talk) 00:39, 30 April 2013 (UTC)Sosthenes12[reply]

Circumference of a Circle Regarding your changes as you did not find my entry on the page constructive: Fact a 3 x a diameter length of 120 cm' = 360 centimeters ergo each degree measures 1 centimeter: That is an axiomatic absolute; and not you or the censorship of all the old boy publishers of academia can alter that reality: Also if you visit www.geometry-mass-space-time which you probably will not: You will discover that three times the radius squared gives an exact area of the circle, that is exactly three quarters of the area of the square of the diameter.

Hi, scientist! Long time no see...... hey thanks for your quick work with the blocks on that article, but as you may have noticed, there are several other ips (some in the Penn State block and some not) that have been adding namecruft and other non factual info, dating all the way beck to last October. Do what ever you think is right, and as always your help is appreciated. Gtwfan52 (talk) 04:25, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I know. I've blocked only 146.186.45.0/24 for a week, because they caused most disruption. Others are either not recent or harder to pinpoint. School articles are always a headache - most changes, even if not obvious vandalism, are just unsourced and hard to verify. Yet those articles are in a very poor shape and are built up by IPs and newcomers. Thus my personal policy is protect them only against brief attacks, preferably by blocks. I also don't hesitate reverting unsourced additions and tagging the editor with a low-level {{unsourced}} template. Other admins might have their views. Cheers. Userpage protection

I hope you don't mind a quick question. I was asked earlier today to remove full protection from my userpage: User talk:INeverCry#User page protection. I figured I'd ask you about this seeing that you also use full protection for your userpage, and I've seen other admins who do as well. My basic reason for doing this with my page is that I've done over 100000 deletions, and I don't want to have to worry about page and file creators messing with my userpage. Thanks for your time. INeverCry 03:02, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your comments on my talk. I'm sorry I seem to have gotten you involved in an argument. INeverCry 04:47, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. There are no policies for everything, and in many situations admins are supposed to act at their own discretion, like this one. At this moment, I see no policy or guideline that would justify a personal request for unprotection, but MZMcBride may surely raise this point with the community, reach consensus, and ask again - I have no objection to that at all. Materialscientist (talk) 04:56, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

International Workers' Day protection

I had just asked for 48 hours of semi-protection... thank you. It would have been a tough 24 hours for that article. Fyunck(click) (talk) 07:41, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Wrongfully blocked

I did NOT deserved to be blocked. I wasn't vandalizing Wikipedia nor was I spamming and you wrongfully blocked me. All I did was a add a section to this page; List of Virtual Console games for Wii U (North America) and somehow you guys saw it as vandalism. I'm not very happy about this one bit and in case you don't know I have Autism. I demand an apology right now! (50.121.7.217 (talk) 08:46, 1 May 2013 (UTC))[reply]

My block had a purely technical nature (evasion of block set to your other IP). Talk to McDoobAU93 (talk · contribs) and JamesBWatson (talk · contribs) if you wish to rectify the issue. See also edit summaries - they partly explain why your edits were reverted. Nobody said they were vandalism. Materialscientist (talk) 08:52, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Material

Just to point out that while your block of the IP is legitimate for the article space vandalism this was kind of a goof on your part (thanks for trying though). Think about it, an Admin deleting a page about an Admin is ironic unless i'm wrong about the definition of ironic, plus if you've seen my signature you'll know that it has 'MIVP' in it which if you look in the Edit Summary was included. Don't worry, you're forgiven, all it took was a good faith revert. On that end thanks for handling the block, i'm like the only student of the school with good intentions it would seem and well, I have this account. Just to point out I support your block even though you erred. MIVP - (Can I Help? ◕‿◕) (Maybe a bit of tea for thought?) - (Cakes) 08:59, 1 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ongoing test edits from an IP

Recently I noticed an IP user constantly adding numbers to the "Birth date and age" templates of various people, then reverting immediately. I'm relatively new to editing here but once I figured out what was going on I went to leave a warning on User_talk:93.167.80.7, finding they'd done this before, and that you had blocked them temporarily. Can you take another look at what they're doing? And on a side note, is this the correct way to address something like this? Metadox (talk) 04:57, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've blocked that IP for 6 months for disruptive editing, thanks. This behavior is rare, but not unique. It qualifies as trolling, and warrants tagging for vandalism and reporting to WP:AIV. Materialscientist (talk) 05:05, 2 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Uw-unsourced templates

Hello. I initiated a discussion at Wikipedia talk:Template messages/User talk namespace#Uw-unsourced templates complaining that the wording associated with these templates misrepresents Wikipedia policy, seriously in my opinion. The most important purpose of warning templates, I feel, is to alert inexperienced users to policies that they may have inadvertently violated. To accomplish this purpose, the associated statements must be correct! The message associated with {{Uw-unsourced3}}, however, unambiguously states that adding unsourced material violates Wikipedia policy. This is incorrect, and the other levels assert or imply the same misrepresentation. Most newbies' first edits, I'm pretty sure, are uncontroversial improvements that could easily be verified, though no source is provided or needs to be, unless challenged; these are precisely where we want new users to start out.

None of the discussants in this thread use these templates at all often and we therefore know little about the purposes for which they are used. I am concerned because I have encountered cases where they have been used to bully newbies who have, in good faith, added material that was unsourced and had no need to be sourced. Judging by your contribution record, you have made extensive use of all levels of these templates; can I persuade you to contribute to the conversation at WT:UTM? Why are they needed? How can they be revised to represent policy accurately and still have a worthwhile purpose?

If you wish to respond directly, please do so here. I would be very pleased if you would contribute to the WT:UTM discussion instead.

User:Frenziec; 36 hours?

Odd. Spam-advertising accounts are usually blocked indefinitely. Is there a reason Frenziec only got 36 hours? Alex2564 (talk) 05:08, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

To give them a chance - next block may well be indefinite. A large proportion of then-regulars come here to advertise something. Materialscientist (talk) 05:16, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
That's pretty odd as well, for then-regulars to come here to advertise something. But, Frenziec joined today... That seems pretty short for a then-regular account. Alex2564 (talk) 05:18, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Change to Psilocybin Explanation

Hi Material Science. The definition of partial agonism is partial efficacy but does not imply functional selectivity. It may be that psychedelics are partial agonists that happen to be functionally selective but it is misleading to simply say that they are partial agonist which implies that serotonin antagonists should be psychedelic when in fact it is the opposite in that atypical antipsychotics known for their serotonin antagonisms ends psychedelic drug trips by blocking the functionally selective agonism. There is a specific signaling pathway activated by 5HT2a functionally selective agonists such as lysergic acid, mescaline, dimethyltryptamine and psilocin. This pathway is the arachidonic acid pathway.[1] Airsh0w (talk) 05:02, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Help needed

Hi Materialscientist, this user has been moving pages without giving any specific reasons. Since I can't move those pages back could you please do that. Tolly4bolly 07:49, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I'm not sure if those moves should be reverted. IMDb.com shows several movies with the name Amar Prem. Please be more specific. Materialscientist (talk) 08:18, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Per wikipedia rules, unless there's other films with the same name you move or disambiguate with the year the movie was released [(like Cash (2007 film), Cash (2008 film)]. Example: There's no other films with Kati Patang (in wikipedia) and the user is moving to an inappropriate page like Kati Patang (1971). I believe that there's no need to move when there's no other page with the same name and also that user is moving pages in an inappropriate way. I hope this explains. Tolly4bolly 09:17, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know. I was just wondering why nobody has created pages for other Amar Prem movies [2]? Maybe they stand no chance for notability? I simply don't know. Materialscientist (talk) 09:22, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

As a creator of hindi film articles, I can say that I also sometimes fear of notability and other tags on the articles and also there are quite few editors who actually create (old) hindi film articles. Anyway, is there any chance that you revert those moves by the users. We can move again when someone creates other pages with the same name. Tolly4bolly 09:30, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Ok. I just don't know about his claim correcting the release date from 1971 to January 1972 for Dushman (1972 film). Materialscientist (talk) 09:38, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks and regarding Dushman, the film was released in 1971 (according to imdb, google searches and the movie itself). Tolly4bolly 09:47, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I (or maybe you) can revert that move, but I was thinking maybe Atul Talashikar was correct? IMDB, Google, and some boxoffice sites I saw are not reliable sources. Would be good to cross-check. Materialscientist (talk) 10:05, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Well, I went to National Film Archive of India and searched for Dushman but couldn't find anything on the film (just found about 1953 film with the same name). Tolly4bolly 10:26, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I believe that page did contradict the non-commercial nature of wikipedia, as well as the WP:NOTDIRECTORY guideline. Materialscientist (talk) 04:10, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Unexplained revert

Hi Materialscientist, I have been watching this article Memphis Police Department wanting to clean it up. Someone did a fairly good job and you reverted all of their edits with no explanation. Would you like to leave an explanation on the talk page please? I'm tempted to revert your edit, but I wanted to hear your objection to what was done. All of the information is unsourced, reads like a brochure, and does not meet Wikipedia standards. Thanks. USchick (talk) 04:04, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You may revert me there at will. This might help a bit: I've blocked 198.144.185.147 (talk · contribs) per WP:OP policy. This particular open proxy corrupts urls in wikipedia articles because of its configuration (correct that if your revert). It removed some sourced info, and some unsourced info, which is correct, yet is a copyvio from http://www.memphispolice.org/ pages. Google hints that the section "Investigative Services" was copypasted from pages that were hosted on https://kiosk.memphispolice.org, but I can't retrieve them (directly or via wayback machine). Materialscientist (talk) 05:02, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings, Materialscientist! I reverted your revert of Hitchhiking. The huge deletion which you replaced was in fact a duplication of the entire "Around the world" section. The duplication was previously done, inadvertently, by User:Unforgettableid. Now there is only one "Around the world" section, as it should be. Kind regards, --@Efrat (talk) 11:09, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. My revert was done using STiki, which only shows a diff in a small window, so duplications are easy to miss. My bad anyway, because IP left an edit summary. Materialscientist (talk) 11:20, 6 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Regarding the "Alexander Alexandrovich Alexeyev" page

I am currently working on an assignment for class in which we are required to report on a topic that currently doesn't have an entry on Wikipedia, and then link 5 other articles to ours. My topic is Alexeyev, ambassador to Cuba from 1962 to 1968. I tried to link pages such as Nikita Khrushchev, Fidel Castro, and Cuban Missile Crisis. But, my links were promptly removed because of relevancy issues. I fail to see how mentioning Alexeyev briefly in these articles is "irrelevant," as he did contribute to the histories of these various topics. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Maxymis (talkcontribs) 04:41, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, I'm not sure what you intended with a vandalism reversion on Cougar, but it isn't working as is. Is there a way to list two url's with the url parameter? Sminthopsis84 (talk) 17:29, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

?? Maybe try to rephrase the question? Materialscientist (talk) 22:31, 7 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
This edit has resulted in a url that doesn't work, it has http: in the middle. It's not strictly a vandalism reversion. Sminthopsis84 (talk) 14:58, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Would you mind looking at Glasshole and its history? The AFD discussion was closed as "merge to Google Glass#Reception" yet M0rphzone (talk · contribs) has reverted the merge and my attempt to let someone else merge it. Thx. Toddst1 (talk) 03:08, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, I would really like to help, but as a wiki editor I share the view of M0rphzone and Bill Price (nyb) - we should aim for a respectable encyclopedia and not an echo of transient news. News outlets have always leaned toward sensationalism, especially with the advent of internet and fierce competition. I don't consider the latest sourcing of this topic in Google Glass good enough for inclusion to wikipedia, but I naively think it is a perfectly good entry for wikitionary (I've never edited it though :-D), as all the blurb about "who mentioned the term" adds nothing to its description and can be stripped. Materialscientist (talk) 04:48, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
I was more interested in your intervention from a procedural perspective as an admin than as an editorial comment. I think I'll drop it. Toddst1 (talk) 19:56, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You reverted the old version of the biography and I returned the new version with comments, which are that the old version is misleading. It says that John Ince is currently a politician and leader of The Sex Party, which he is not. The old version refers only to one of his five books; the new version refers to all of his books. The new version also adds other important features of his career. The new version gives a much more accurate picture of this person. If footnotes need to be added, they can be contributed. Ukrainian cities names

Why there are russian and ukrainian names? It isn`t logical because the only official language of Ukraine is Ukrainian, and names are just in Ukrainian. --Killrocker (talk) 09:54, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

because those cities were Soviet in the recent past, and therefore many people and literature sources still use the old names. Materialscientist (talk) 09:59, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Every Ukrainian city was Soviet. So if i understand you, every city in Ukraine should have also russian (soviet) name. So why they are just in some cities? Why Lviv isn`t Lvov? Uzhhorod isn`t Uzhgorod? Ivano-Frankivsk isn`t Ivano-Frankovsk?...
If the literature sources is also a reason, there should be also other non-ukrainian names in the Western Ukraine, but there aren`t. Why Russian ones are better then Polish, Hungarian, Romanian, Slovak etc.? --78.102.92.26 (talk) 12:45, 15 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

STiki only serving old edits

Hi Materialscientist,

A few STiki users have noticed that STiki is only giving them old edits to look at. Is this happening to you? I ask because I notice from the leaderboard that you have been quite active on STiki recently.

You comments would be appreciated at Wikipedia talk:STiki#Edits older than 20 days.

Changes made in article: SevenHills Health City, Mumbai

Dear Materialscientist,

I have made changes in the article on SevenHills Hospital & Health City, Mumbai. These changes are factual & represent the actual situation of the hospital at present. The hospital has been using Wikipedia to advertise itself. This, I think, is not the purpose of Wikipedia. Thanks, ousep — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ousep (talkcontribs) 03:13, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Editing SevenHills Hospital data

I tried to edit data appearing under "SevenHills Hospital" but the edits are not being accepted & the text is reverting to what is already there. Please understand that what is written in the article is an advertisement by the hospital. The facts are totally wrong. The hospital is under litigation. Please do not allow Wikipedia to be misused. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Kaul2007 (talkcontribs) 13:12, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Less Than Jake

On the Jake page, The Band "Less Than Jake" is listed as a "skate punk band." I had edited this read "ska punk band," a more correct description of the band, but you reverted it. The Wikipedia entry for Less Than Jake, and the band's own website both use the term "ska punk."

Gas diffusion electrode

Good morning Material Science. You critisice that there is no source for the "technical parameter" of gas diffusion electrode given. That ist right and it is really a pitty and exactly the truth. There is no ASTM or DIN or ISO norm for that part of the electrochemistry. The industry has developed there own "internal standards". The science has at the moment no answer for the question how to scale up resulsts from RRDE electrodes with a given surface to a gas diffusion electrode with a complicated pore structure. My interest has been to name this "unsourced" problem and give the community some details. Please delete these parts you would name as "advertising" but leave the unanswered and unsourced parts. IP editor on disambiguation page

Hello. Which article are you referring to and what is wrong with it? I've been cleaning up some dab pages in accordance with MOS:DAB. 66.217.203.162 (talk) 07:16, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please see MOS:DAB. Guidelines recommend removal of clutter. Section heads aren't needed for short lists, especially where everything is in one country. And ordering by state is not always the best method; guidelines suggest articles with the exact title come first. I've been fixing a lot of these lately. Also, by reverting the example you gave, you put back an extra bluelink on two items, which is discouraged by guidelines (and there's not even a house in Georgia on the list). 66.217.203.162 (talk) 07:37, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
To the IP editor: would you please create an account and log in, to enable proper discussion? You don't have to, in order to edit, but it would facilitate proper discussion. I am personally finding some of your edits to be partially helpful, but often also NOT helpful. I don't want to be forced to chase after you and revert all of your edits. I would rather have a proper discussion. --doncram 12:15, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
To MaterialScientist: this editor appears to be the same person who edited at 66.217.197.192 yesterday or the day before, also editing at many disambiguation pages. Most of those edits were reverted by me and another editor. There were some good elements of the edits which i tried to restore, but there is much that is not helpful. Including changing order out of natural order by country (and within the U.S. by state then city), which the person continued with today. --doncram 12:24, 20 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

If you think I made a mistake, no, I didn't. Any global warming reference relied upon as fact or science is simply unacceptable. As a scientist (your name implies) you should understand. But if your political views cloud your scientific reasoning then you should look within. The simple fact that global warming (debunked) has been re-termed climate change should be a warning to your beliefs (if you are a climate activist). Look in the mirror and ask if climate so-called science is driven by funding... and driven by anti-Capitalism. If you honestly answer no to both then please reconsider the fraudulent science, intentionally manufactured data, political forces pushing the issue, then ask if you, a scientist, analyze and conclude upon corrupted data. The honest answer is NO, without exception.

Thanks for your reply and patience. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Montana2021 (talkcontribs) 04:43, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. I would really appreciate your help in a matter that has been affecting me on Wikipedia for a while. This user, Prashant!, has been responsible for conflicts on Wikipedia with several editors, including me for a while now. Because of a constant barrage of personal attacks against me here and here, I was forced to take a month-long break from Wikipedia. Anyway, I have avoided interacting with him at all costs since then, and today I find that he has complained against me this complaint|here and posted an extremely abusive message for me on his talk page. I am seriously fed up of his behaviour, and I would appreciate any kind of help on this matter. Thank you. --smarojit (buzz me) 11:37, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Hello, I'm Materialscientist. I noticed that you made an edit to a biography of a living person, but that you didn’t support your changes with a citation to a reliable source. Wikipedia has a strict policy concerning how we write about living people, so please help us keep such articles accurate. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. Materialscientist (talk) 06:26, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

I'm fairly new to wiki. Please forgive me if I don't follow the term and conditions of this site exactly. I am going to include a couple of articles as cites of sources. The previous references that I included are reliable in since that they are factual. There is not a widespread amount of material available on the history of Memphis underground rap music or the beginning years of DJ Paul. Nevertheless, the information that is available is very factual. Please take out the time to review my sources from an informative standpoint. DJ Paul's biography is an essential piece of the underground hip-hop subculture in Memphis. It is necessary to include a small bit of Memphis music history in his biography to get a full understanding of his development as a DJ, producer, and rapper. [2]

DJ Paul and other Memphis DJs produced lo-fi music in the early 1990s [3] Additionally, DJ Paul's conversion from a basic mixtape DJ to a producer/DJ was the beginning of Crunk music [4]. Without chronically DJ Paul's start as an underground DJ/Producer, this fact will be lost.

As I stated in my edit of DJ Paul's biography, he was not the originator of the sound that he produced on his lo-fi mixtapes. DJs such as DJ Spanish Fly and DJ Squeeky were already doing what Paul was attempting to do.

Here is a short article on DJ Spanish Fly [5]. This particular article goes into more detail about the beginning of the Memphis underground hip-hop scene. DJ Spanish Fly is the pioneer DJ of this scene.

Thank you for your time, MemphisLegend (talk) 16:21, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

You are a Golden Editor!

Good as gold!
I recently realized that I have not done a very good job of recognizing vandal fighters when presenting the Golden Editor Award. On a list of admins that deal with vandals, your name would be very high, if not at the top (as evidenced by the fact that, according to WP:ADMINSTATS, you have made more blocks than any other human admin ever). I won't assume that every single one of those blocks was issued for vandalism, but I will say that in the past, I have noticed and admired your toughness on this Wiki-crime. As a result, I am pleased to declare you a Golden Editor, as well as someone who really uses the mop to do janitor-like work! AutomaticStrikeout  ?  22:18, 23 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

your note to me telling me not to add "unreferenced material"

Hello-

You made a comment to me that I shouldn't post information without also adding references. In the instance of 'Blu Cantrell" Wiki entries, which virtually every single one has erroneous "references"/mis-information/outright wrong statements, I make those corrections because I am her Mother, I certainly know what the truth IS. I am NOT about to post her birth certificate or other sensitive documents etc to prove what I'm saying; I shouldn't have to. I am quite exasperated, frustrated with people who are endlessly copying and pasting totally erroneous "statements" about her; our whole family is at an end of patience with the lies. Because some employee in PR at Arista or other label made an initial press release about her does not in any way guarantee it's authenticity or make it gospel, much less the endless quoting of it by those who wish to appear as though they know something.

Respectfully, it is not up to YOU to tell me what to post about my own daughter. You may be an "editor" here, but you don't own all information nor do you own this site NOR do you have any proprietary claim on my daughter's information. This is a user-content generated site, and I am a user who posted content that happens to be factual. Her name is Lee, not Cobb and every time I see that error posted I will correct it. Every time I see any mistake or falsehood about her on Wikipedia, I WILL CORRECT IT.

While I appreciate & respect that you want entries here to be factual, you're knocking on the wrong door this time. I will not allow errors and mistruths about my daughter, which also reflects on my family, to stand in such a public venue.

Thank you, Susi Franco 108.34.214.48 (talk) 16:01, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

your message to me about my adding material to a page---

Hello-

I appreciate that you restored the content I posted to my daughter's page ( Blu Cantrell aka Tiffany Lee). I have MANY times posted why I made the changes, saying I am a blood relative and know these statements to be erroneous, and someone keeps deleting them. For example, people keep posting that her name is Cobb. It is NOT Cobb, but Lee. I am not going to post her birth certificate nor other sensitive documents here to prove that, but my family & I have had it with people making postings about her that are erroneous and so far out in left field as to be invisible to the naked eye.

I don't think people realize, PR depts of various recording labels get some basic info on an artist and then embellish it, try to make it more interesting, and in many cases, get it wrong altogether. I think that's the origin of all the mistakes regarding her personal history. There have also been many, MANY would-be "producers" who insert themselves into her personal data/profile here on Wiki, trying to give themselves some industry credibility. ( example: "producer" Colin Main; she has NEVER contracted to work with him, he bootlegged copies of studio time she did on other projects) I am sick of that and so is her family, so is she. I handle alot of my daughter's business and I keep trying to put the truth forward on Wiki and other sites that have posted erroneous statements about her career timeline and personal data. The irony is, people don't seem to want accurate fact, they prefer the myths. That does not change the truth, however. I will keep correcting the errors on Wiki regarding my daughter until people stop making them or I die, whichever comes first.

just a thanx for tidying some of my uninformed Wiki methods

autodidaktos : I just started editing pages in these areas of interest.I would welcome seeing someone with a better handle on NC-math history refiguring my attempts.I am curious about the crossover of mathmatics in the early days between electronics ,control system studys and what became programming practice. I am not qualified to make some of the links I`ve suggested in some of my edits. I have just been assembling quotes and placing them in a timeline ,with statements the principles have made. To explain. I read about Shannons-Browns-Wieners work at MIT and how it is connected to a big budget concern of the early 20th century [AC network theory]-Their work [and assistants] was happening at the same time they were working on servo electric designs in motor control. While also figuring out how to describe-analyse reflected radar. I started off looking at Doug Ross and a quote of his about how his study of radar data was conceptualized in a rectilinear framework and how he thought that was a happy coincidence when he had to work out a coordinate system for tool path generation. I got sucked in when I read him talking about nacent programming theory and realized how he was drawing on discussions happening all around him. He mentions talking with McCarthy, Chomsky, others -he lectured with Wiener . Sorry for rambling. I`m not sure I`ll be able to fill out these ideas. I fear my edits have a little to much narrative and expect that to be smoothed out in reediting by me or someone. I just thought it would be helpful for people looking at CAD NC to get a glimpse at the interconnectedness that existed and maybe see how it still is. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Autodidaktos (talkcontribs) 21:42, 24 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
