Revision as of 22:57, 15 June 2013

Welcome—request protection of a page, file, or template here.

Before requesting, read the protection policy. Full protection is used to stop edit warring between multiple users or to prevent vandalism to high-risk templates; semi-protection and pending changes are usually used to prevent IP and new user vandalism (see the rough guide to semi-protection); and move protection is used to stop pagemove revert wars. Extended confirmed protection is used where semi-protection has proved insufficient (see the rough guide to extended confirmed protection)

After a page has been protected, it is listed in the page history and logs with a short rationale, and the article is listed on Special:Protectedpages. In the case of full protection due to edit warring, admins should not revert to specific versions of the page, except to get rid of obvious vandalism.

Request protection of a page, or increasing the protection level

Request unprotection of a page, or reducing the protection level

Request a specific edit to a protected page
Please request an edit directly on the protected page's talk page before posting here

    Current requests for protection

Place requests for new or upgrading pending changes, semi-protection, full protection, move protection, create protection, template editor protection, or upload protection at the BOTTOM of this section. Check the archive of fulfilled and denied requests or, failing that, the page history if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

    174.227.193.101 (talk) 15:00, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 14:50, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Persistent vandalism and unconstructive edits by various IP users. Areaseven (talk) 14:46, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. 069952497aComments and complaintsStuff I've done 14:43, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary pending changes: Persistent vandalism – persistent non-constructive edits for last few weeks. It was reported at WP:BLPN too. . TitoDutta 13:06, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Indefinite semi-protection: Persistent vandalism. Lady Lotus (talk) 13:05, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary pending changes: Currently a very hot and popular movie since it was recently released on 13 June. Perhaps PC it for about a month or two first while the excitement gradually dies down. Aikatastrophe (talk) 12:30, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent sockpuppetry – AfD being flooded by newly created SPAs who in an attempt to keep the article edit disruptively/vandalise the page, including removing delete-votes. The article in question is a recreation of a previously deleted article, and the creator has already been blocked for abusing multiple accounts when removing the AfD-tag. The swarm of new suspected socks have been reported to WP:SPI but not much seems to happen there right now so temporary semi-protection might be needed to calm things down. Thomas.W (talk) 11:01, 15 June 2013 (UTC) All of the troublesome users have been blocked as sockpuppets and an IP range block has also been imposed in order to prevent further problems, so protection is no longer needed. Thomas.W (talk) 20:02, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Semi-protection: edit-warring between ip's and users. Stryn (talk) 10:50, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Well, now there is also one reviewer warring... and also using wrong his/her rights. I mean that user can't reject changes, if edits are not vandalism. --Stryn (talk) 12:37, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    Semi-protected — 6 months. Long-term problem of warring by IPs who don't use Talk. EdJohnston (talk) 17:49, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi protection: Persistent vandalism by IPs. This article is about a person who has recently died.Terminator92 (talk) 10:10, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite full protection: Persistent vandalism. Bishnu Saikia 17:49, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi protection: Multiple iterations of vandalism have occurred in this article over the last 2 or 3 days, such as BLP violations, and unsourced, incorrect claims about him changing clubs. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 07:39, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Indefinite semi protection: This article is a constant target for vandalism, be it by IPs, or brand-new accounts. The amount of good edits by IPs in its entire history can be counted on the fingers of one hand, pretty much. Lukeno94 (tell Luke off here) 07:25, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary pending changes: Currently a very hot and popular movie since it was recently released on 13 June. Perhaps PC it for about a month or two first while the excitement gradually dies down. Arctic Kangaroo () 06:55, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Lots of vandalism from anon and unconfirmed accounts. Adabow (talk) 06:39, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Vandalism resumed after last protect expires. Latest is a roving IP and set of single edit accounts adding bogus credits about her person being used as a character in some fanfic – this can be considered derogatory to her and is irrelevant to anything that should be in this article. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:18, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: Suffering a lot of IP vandalism over recent pricing decision, it's a storm in a tea cup that should blow over in the coming weeks, and will be a non-event when the game actually launches at the end of the year for a reduced cost. Oosh (talk) 02:46, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Requesting full protection to ward off further WP:POINT edits. Federales (talk) 02:41, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Vandalism/edit warring over Richie Sambora's status as a band member. He's by all means still a current member, but the page keeps being edited reporting him as a past one and Phil X as their current guitarist. My account has also been blocked as a consequence for edit warring. Jessycardy (talk) 00:09, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary full protection: Content dispute/edit warring – Revert war in BLP over homosexuality. Stuartyeates (talk) 23:22, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Constant vandalism and addition of jokes from Ips. Page has a long history of vandalism. I call the big one bitey (talk) 22:21, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – several undiscussed genre changes by IPs over the last week or so . L1A1 FAL (talk) 21:14, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: The page is constantly being vandalized by an user (Isaacsirup) for crediting recently deceased actress Jiah Khan. The necessary discussion on the talk page is not being used for the article. - Vivvt (Talk) 19:22, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Quick note: User Vivvt is not taking notice of talk page consensus, is constantly removing sourced material from Dil Se and adding unsourced material. He has been reverted many times by several editors--Isaacsirup (talk) 19:30, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Please list all those "several" editors here. I would also like to know all of those. - Vivvt (Talk) 19:32, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
User BollyJeff also reverted this vandal (User Vivvt)--Isaacsirup (talk) 19:41, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
He has not reverted or supported anybody. He has just added cn tags. - Vivvt (Talk) 19:48, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    BollyJeff reverted Vivvt[1] --Isaacsirup (talk) 19:55, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thats before talk page discussion started. Who else among those "several" has reverted me than Bollyjeff? Gosh! This is getting pretty childish. - Vivvt (Talk) 20:00, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
(edit conflict) Hold on! Thats not revert for my edits. - Vivvt (Talk) 20:03, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    Discussion ensued here--Isaacsirup (talk) 20:56, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – Fan reaction to the Metamoris 2 BJJ competition and mention on YouTube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=KBvAGbanc-I) has led to ongoing vandalism. I request protection of this article until interest dies down. Chris Troutman (talk) 15:39, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection - Persistent addition of a copyright violation by an IP-hopping editor. Most of the edits for the article's entire history has been the insertion and removal of copyrighted material. - SudoGhost 15:38, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection: Persistent vandalism – BLP protection needed while details of Man City deal come through. JMHamo (talk) 15:35, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Semi-protection: High level of IP vandalism. People seem obsessed with changing her date of birth all the time. Josh1024 (talk) 14:18, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    • (Non-administrator comment) We generally post new requests at the top of the page. You can use WP:TWINKLE to quickly and easily request protection. Anyway, three recent reverts and seems to be a single IP issue. --TitoDutta 14:24, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection. Persistent sockpuppetry, refer to Rated R (Rihanna album), Loud (Rihanna album), Songs in A Minor, Whoa, Nelly!, Butterfly (Mariah Carey album), and some others. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 06:02, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temporary semi-protection. Sockpuppetry resumed after unprotection. Tbhotch. Grammatically incorrect? Correct it! See terms and conditions. 02:44, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temp-Semi - persistent IP address keeps re-adding information about unconfirmed medical studies linking the product to cancer and ADHD. It has been deleted several times by multiple editors and the IP keeps reinserting the information and not acknowledging requests to discuss. --Jeremy (blah blahI did it!) 19:56, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Temp-Semi - IPs and new accounts continually reverting good faith edits from different users on these pages for a long time!Chris1636 (talk) 06:39, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Current requests for unprotection

Before posting, first discuss with the protecting admin at their talk page. Post below only if you receive no reply.

    • To find out the username of the admin who protected the page click on "history" at the top of the page, then click on "View logs for this page" which is under the title of the page. The protecting admin is the username in blue before the words "protected", "changed protection level" or "pending changes". If there are a number of entries on the log page, you might find it easier to select "Protection log" or "Pending changes log" from the dropdown menu in the blue box.
    • Requests to downgrade full protection to template protection on templates and modules can be directed straight here; you do not need to ask the protecting admin first.
    • Requests for removing create protection on redlinked articles are generally assisted by having a draft version of the intended article prepared beforehand.
    • If you want to make spelling corrections or add uncontroversial information to a protected page please add {{Edit fully-protected}} to the article's talk page, along with an explanation of what you want to add to the page. If the talk page is protected please use the section below.

Check the archives if you cannot find your request. Only recently answered requests are still listed here.

Current requests for edits to a protected page

Please update Pioneer_Courthouse_Square per this request diff: [2]. I believe this would be th correct way to reflect a quote, per the MOS. Thank you. 177.43.72.251 (talk) 22:57, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

    Update from sandbox: Added a new decline reason. Nathan2055talk - contribs 22:18, 11 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Nathan, you would need to post here, or link to, the edit you're requesting. SlimVirgin (talk) 01:36, 13 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
    Yes, I just need Template:AFC submission/comments/sandbox copypasted to the page. --Nathan2055talk - contribs 16:02, 14 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
The diff shows you would be changing:
"Unfortunately, the target article was previously deleted through an articles for deletion discussion, so the only way to create a new page there is by going through deletion review"
    to:
"Unfortunately, the target article was previously deleted and has been prevented from recreation, so to create a new page there you will need to request unprotection here. Afterwards, your submission will be moved to article space."
Is that something that needs to be discussed on the talk page first? SlimVirgin (talk) 00:33, 15 June 2013 (UTC)[reply]
