Revision as of 09:27, 11 November 2015

Welcome. Please note that this page is NOT for challenging the outcome of deletion discussions or to address the pending deletion of any page.

Requests for undeletion is a process intended to assist users in restoring pages or files that were uncontroversially deleted via proposed deletion, under certain speedy deletion criteria (such as maintenance deletions or rejected Articles for creation drafts), or in "articles for deletion" debates with little or no participation other than the nominator. This page is also intended to serve as a central location to request that deleted content be userfied or emailed to you so the content can be improved upon prior to re-insertion into the mainspace, or used elsewhere (you may also make a request directly to one of the administrators listed here). This means that content deleted after discussion—at articles for deletion, categories for discussion, or miscellany for deletion among other deletion processes—may in some cases be provided to you, but such controversial page deletions will not be overturned through this process. Copyright violations and attack pages will not be provided at all.

This page is only for requesting undeletion of articles or files which have already been deleted. If the article you are concerned about is still visible, but has a warning message (template) at the top, please do not post here, but follow the instructions in the template or on your talk page.

Note that requests for undeletion is not a replacement for deletion review. If you feel an administrator has erred in closing a deletion discussion or in applying a speedy deletion criterion, please contact them directly. If you discuss but are unable to resolve the issue on their talk page, it should be raised at Wikipedia:Deletion review, rather than here.

Instructions for special cases

Jacob Toft-Andersen

numerous hits on the reliable video game sources custom search and other reliable news outlets (best results when searching for "Maelk") -Prisencolin (talk) 08:59, 2 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Prisencolin, this was deleted at AfD back in 2011 by Davewild, so this can't be restored here. If Davewild doesn't respond (which is possible, since he hasn't edited since the beginning of September) then you can always take this to WP:DRV. What I'd recommend in the meantime is that you look into working on an article at WP:AfC. The previously deleted version of the article would need some work even if it was restored since it was almost entirely unsourced and some of the information was slightly casual in tone.
Right now what you can do is gather sources to show where Toft-Andersen has received coverage in independent and reliable sources. (These would be the sources you'd bring to DRV and/or use in an AfC article.) It'd be best if you highlighted specific articles rather than directing us to search for them ourselves. I hate to say it, but you can't guarantee that everyone will do as good of a search as they should. Some will actually take a bit of exception to being told to look for sources if none are provided at DRV. Offhand I am seeing some sources that give a mild assertion for notability, but not an overwhelming assertion - which is why you'd really need if you went to DRV. I need to continue resolving the issues to be approved by wikipedia -Enviro19 (talk) 22:14, 3 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Enviro19, the page was fairly promotional in tone. There was also a concern that it's a WP:NEOLOGISM that was fairly recently created, so I'm not sure that this can really be improved to pass notability guidelines. It might be better to create an article about the company itself (Singer Environmental) if it passes notability guidelines for businesses/corporations. • This has some pretty promotional tones to it and would require a pretty thorough cleaning to become neutral. I'm also concerned that this was given a reprieve in January and no edits were made. This doesn't look like it was a request from you, but I am concerned that if restored this would just sit in the draftspace. Tokyogirl79 (。◕‿◕。) 19:17, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

African American Homeland States

Actually the African American Homeland States concept is not new. It's been around since 1999, and I'm only making aware to the public that the idea actually existed and I think the narrative is worth being told. It is no more different than the Stormfront Page and furthermore Stormfront is promoting their website on Wikipedia. My website isn't mentioned on the page therefore, African American Homeland States is not being promoted, please reconsider. thank you. click the "Save page" button below -Delkfreddy33 (talk) 17:06, 4 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hello,

There was a page for Beatrice International Models which has been deleted recently. I checked the page on wikiwand and it seems that in september someone intentionally wanted to delete the pages and requested deletion from 3-4 fake profiles. The 3-4 requests were submitted in within 2 days.

I would kindly like to let you know that Beatrice International Models or Beatrice Models still exists. Beatrice Models was established in 1976. The website is www.beatricemodels.it. The agency has worked with top celebrities. You can find the links of those pages.

May I kindly ask you to re-instate the pages please ?

Regards

Comment The discussion was here: Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Beatrice International Models. As you can see, the nominator and all three "delete" !voters were established Wikipedians, not "fake profiles". See also the request at my talk page. I was the deleting administrator. --MelanieN (talk) 04:15, 5 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Rohit beatricemodels:  Not done. Articles deleted after a discussion are nor restored here. Since the administrator who closed the discussion has declined to restore it, your next step would be to apply at WP:Deletion review, but before doing that please read the advice which I will put on your user talk page within a few hours. Priority Matrix

This page was deleted due to lack of notability. However, Priority Matrix is both a well established methodology (known sometimes as the Eisenhower Matrix), as well as a software implementation of the methodology coming out of Stanford's StartX, used by wide range of users. @Whwright87: Declined pending further information. This was restored in April after this request, but nothing was done to it. Articles for creation is not an indefinite hosting service for material found to be unsuitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia's article mainspace. We may be willing to restore it again, but only if you provide a definite assurance that you actually intend to work on it. Please advise. For the notability requirements, see WP:BASIC and WP:ANS. I, Alivonkant, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Alivonkant (talk) 14:40, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Not done. Hi Alivonkant. Much of this draft is word-for-word found here. Did you take this text from there? If so this would a copyright violation and we could not use that text. Of course, it's also possible they copied from the draft (and then failed to acknowledge that plagiarism or comply with our free copyright licenses). Sometimes it's very easy to tell which direction the copying occurs. I was not sure here. Can you advise? By the way, an article on this topic already exists, at Nighthawks (1978 film) (though its creation post-dates the draft's).--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 17:22, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi: Alas, I am the author of both texts, so I now realise this was an act of self-plagiarism. Thanks for pointing out the existence of the new article. AVK — Preceding unsigned comment added by Alivonkant (talkcontribs) 19:22, 8 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Image was used in draft now published so now used so WP:F5 reason now invaild -KylieTastic (talk) 15:06, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@KylieTastic: I have restored the first of the images (the reason it's still red-linked is that you did not include "File:" in the link). Assuming there's no free images to use (I took a quick look but did not find any), one low-res image of him at the top of the article appears to me to meet the fair use criteria. I don't see how a second image is really needed to convey further and significant encyclopedic understanding, context, and doesn't violate minimal use (WP:NFCC#8, WP:NFCC#3). I thought at first this image might not contain a photograph and so tried to suss out whether it was in the public domain as an Iranian government work, but was unsuccessful. For example, Commons:Copyright rules by territory#Iran does not help. But then I located the image card itself, and it has a photograph – one for which we have no idea of the origin – so at best the card should be assumed a derivative work (so whether the non-photographic portion is PD is irrelevant). Always happy to hear anyone else's take on the fair use issue of course. Best regards--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:19, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Fuhghettaboutit thanks for the update, I only posted as I had assumed that if they were not suitable as NFC they would have been deleted for that reason first. As I couldn't see the images or source claims etc I could make no judgement myself. It looks like you've done a thorough job and more and caught the copyvio the AfC reviewer missed. All the best KylieTastic (talk) 16:49, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
(e/c) <pre e/c text>Unfortunately, I have removed most of the article as a blatant copyright violation by the creator, and so I have moved it back to the draft namespace since the acceptance was based on the copyright violating text. Concomitantly, I have re-deleted the image. So, at least for the moment, this discussion seems moot.</pre e/c text> Anytime Kylie. I considered deleting it entirely. After all, this is the second copyvio caught, with the creator, User:Evermue, never mentioning after the first that the text was copied from yet another source.--Fuhghettaboutit (talk) 16:54, 7 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Expendable (film)

Article was originally deleted by Rjd0060 at 22:15 on 2 November 2015 due to expired PROD. It was marked PROD because it was a "non-notable film." Wanting to userfy for possible improvement at Draft:Tapflo. I am a paid employee of Tapflo UK and have declared this. Thank you - samtar {t} 12:22, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Samtar:  Not done. The version deleted in 2010 was far too promotional to restore: "Tapflo - your reliable pumpchoice... we have always had our winning concept in mind... We are always keenly aware of new requirements and ideas... " etc. Anything like that is deleted from Wikipedia at sight: it would not be a useful basis for an article. Work on your new draft at Draft:Tapflo, and read WP:Your first article, WP:Neutral point of view and the Wikipedia:Plain and simple conflict of interest guide for advice. Don't copy from the company website, which would be (a) a copyright problem and (b) in the wrong tone. Note particularly that you need references showing significant coverage in reliable, independent secondary source to establish Wikipedia:Notability. JohnCD (talk) 13:20, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Orchestral hammer

This was a short article about a percussion instrument used in at least two standard works in the classical music repertoire. The information about it is no longer on Wikipedia except that it is referred to in articles on those two works. I don't know why the article was deleted; possibly for lack of citations, in which case I can supply some (e.g. http://www.independent.co.uk/arts-entertainment/classical/news/why-a-huge-mallet-takes-centre-stage-in-gustav-mahlers-symphony-no-6-a6725856.html). @Vhk10: There isn't any article called "Orchestral hammer" in the deleted history of the English Wikipedia. @Lion01 21: Not done - this Requests for Undeletion process is only for articles that were deleted uncontroversially, and does not apply to articles deleted after a deletion discussion. Since the article you are here about was deleted after a discussion took place at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Party Never Ends, it cannot be undeleted through this process. However, if you believe that the outcome of the discussion did not reflect the consensus of the participants, or that significant new information has come to light since the article was deleted, you may contact the administrator who closed the discussion, user Randykitty (talk · contribs). After you do so, if your concerns are not addressed and you still seek undeletion, a request may be made at deletion review. See WP:NALBUMS for the notability requirement for an album to have a stand-alone article. JohnCD (talk) 22:29, 9 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I previously asked to have this page undeleted and was told to create the article in my sandbox. It is there now and I would request that it be moved to the deleted article which is currently blocked so only administrators can create. -CommonHMC (talk) 09:45, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

I want to note that it was deleted 5 years ago by a single editor who I believed also is the one who blocked the article so only administrators can create it. Thanks. — Preceding unsigned comment added by CommonHMC (talkcontribs) 09:49, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@CommonHMC: please click the blue "Submit" button to send your draft for review by an experienced user who will either accept it or give you feedback. I have unprotected the title so that, if accepted, it can be moved to the main space. JohnCD (talk) 18:53, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@CommonHMC: Yes, I am the one who deleted it multiple times for being blatantly promotional, and then protected the page so people would stop coming here to promote the book. As you move forward, I encourage you to read WP:COI and WP:SPA carefully. --Spike Wilbury (talk) 19:59, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you. I read both and neither apply. Except for the fact I came here to create an article. Which I thought anyone was allowed to do. Not sure ha the deal was 5 years ago but I have no idea who wrote the article or even what was in the article. However, I see that someone is trying to delete it from my sandbox for being spam. I haven't even submitted it yet. Is this normal? — Preceding unsigned comment added by CommonHMC (talkcontribs) 05:35, 11 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Allumer Jewellery

I, Nleithsmith, request the undeletion of this Articles for creation submission deleted under CSD G13. Please restore the page as I intend to work on it. Nleithsmith (talk) 16:51, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Note: This page has been deleted multiple times as an abandoned draft article. As Articles for creation, the Draft space, and user subpages are not to be used to indefinitely host material inappropriate for the encyclopedia, what exactly would you do to help make the draft get accepted as an article? There is one G13 deletion apiece at WT:Articles for Creation/ and Draft:. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 17:43, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Allumer Jewellery has been deleted several times already. JMHamo (talk) 21:12, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Only two G13s though. (The second deletion on that title is a housekeeping deletion, which has no bearing on this request.) —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 21:15, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Draft:Whiteness Project

I request that this page be undeleted.

(This user used the preload form for AFC undeletion, but did not specify the name of the AFC draft they would like undeleted. Consider checking their deleted contributions.) Povdocs (talk) 19:38, 10 November 2015 (UTC)[reply]
