I've become disenchanted with the idea of an encyclopedia as a community project. Despite all that's good about Wikipedia, I see too many decisions being made or rules being enforced that fly in the face of logic. There is an embattled atmosphere on far too many pages, and, overall, too many places where pages fail to conform to what I would consider encyclopedic standards. Wikipedia was an interesting idea, and wikis work well for a great many things, but I've come to the conclusion that a traditional encyclopedia is just not one of those things. There are other wikis where I feel that my time is better spent.

I've become disenchanted with the idea of an encyclopedia as a community project. Despite all that's good about Wikipedia, I see too many decisions being made or rules being enforced that fly in the face of logic. There is an embattled atmosphere on far too many pages and, overall, too many places where pages fail to conform to what I would consider encyclopedic standards. Wikipedia was an interesting idea, and wikis work well for a great many things, but I've come to the conclusion that a traditional encyclopedia is just not one of those things. There are other wikis where I feel that my time is better spent.
