Marvel: Future Fight is a 2015 superhero-themed video game.[1]

Plot

In a near future, various dimensions start collapsing. Thor, Black Bolt, and Black Panther are investigating the collapse before encountering a dead Captain America and versions of themselves, who they duel and defeat. In the future, a dying Nick Fury sends his robotic aid, Jocasta, to the player, with a message telling the player to get a group of heroes to restore the balance. After obtaining the heroes Captain America, Black Widow, and Iron Man, Ultron attacks Stark Tower. While fighting off the Ultrons, Jocasta remarks that something seems "off" about them, and the heroes see strange things, like a War Machine armor Tony Stark didn't make, and a hostile Vision. Eventually, the Ultrons leave without much visible damage, but Jocasta finds out that they kidnapped a Stark Industries employee, Jemma Simmons, who was studying alternate dimensions. The heroes rescue Jemma from AIM. Jemma tells them that they took her research in dimensions. Soon afterward, while trying to locate MODOK, the heroes encounter dimensional alternates of several heroes and villains, and realize that AIM has built a device to send people between dimensions. Eventually, the heroes take down MODOK, who reveals that he was trying to research Ultron by summoning his dimensional alternates before Red Skull stole the dimension transporter. After that, SHIELD agents begin to be attacked on the streets by thugs with ISO-8 enhanced weapons, and supposedly secret S.H.I.E.L.D. bases are raided. After fighting off the thugs as well as the Hand, the team chases after Red Skull and Hydra. After defeating Red Skull and Ultron, a large dimension transference device is opened and dimensions begin to collapse. Future versions of the heroes appear, attempting to destroy the world to save theirs. Agent Carter reveals to the team that Captain America was imprisoned after he refused to help destroy the world. Eventually, the team defeats all of their future selves and save the world by splitting dimensions through Jocasta, with help from MODOK.

Afterwards, Jemma Simmons is contacted by her Marvel's Agents of Shield counterpart, who informs her that their dimension's Helicarrier is under attack from the Inhumans, led by Raina. A team of Daisy Johnson, Agent Coulson, and Melinda May, with support from the arriving Sif, manage to defeat the Inhumans and clear them out of the Helicarrier. However, Gordon, a teleporting Inhuman, teleports Raina and himself to Afterlife, an Inhuman town. Agent Coulson's team infiltrates Afterlife, where, after defeating several waves of Inhumans, they encounter Lincoln Campbell, a misguided Inhuman with the ability to control electricity. After defeating him, the team convinces Lincoln that they are the good guys. Lincoln then tell the team that Raina and Gordon fled to a Hydra base in the Arctic. The team then attacks the Arctic base.

Gameplay

Marvel: Future Fight has been described as a dungeon crawler. Players have the option to use either virtual joystick and button controls or tap-based controls. During a level, players have the option to use normal attacks as well as more powerful skills unique to each hero. Some skills have cooldowns lasting as long as 30 seconds. Players travel in a three-hero team, with the player able to switch between heroes at any time during a game, although if you switch from Hero 1 to Hero 2, you will have to wait a bit before being able to switch back to Hero 1.

There are multiple kinds of missions: Villain Siege, in which players form a 3-man team to battle a boss, Daily Missions, mini-stories that change every day, Story Missions, which are part of the main storyline, Special Missions, side missions with stories based on the New Avengers formerly based on Guardians of the Galaxy and Marvel's Ant-Man films, and World Boss, in which players form a 3-man team and 5-man support team to battle one of multiple special bosses. Story Missions allow the use of clear tickets, which instantly gives the players the rewards for completing the mission without having to play through it. Each type of mission provides a mixed pool of rewards. Special Missions, World Boss, and Story Missions provide level-exclusive Biometrics, Daily Missions provide ISO-8, and Villain Siege provides a mixed pool. There are four types of Arena Battles: Timeline Battles are 3-man team PvP battles; Team-Up Play, a co-op battle with up to 3 online players on a team. Battleworld, a once-daily event usually limited to teams with 4*-6* heroes; Alliance Battle, available once you have joined an alliance, a once-daily event that rewards xp for the alliance as well as rewards for the player. Shadowland is a week long event that has various rewards for clearing a series of 25 floor battles with a 3-man team. A floor battle may be of the following types rumble, relay, wave and boss mode. In each mode new opponents are tagged in as they are defeated, a rumble match is a battle where enemies appear one after another, relay is a battle where up to 4 heroes appear at once to battle, wave mode has enemies attack in waves and boss mode is a single boss match. The player who completes all of shadowland floor battles, can participate in a king of the hill event competing for the top spot against other players. NEW CONTENT(UPDATE 2.7.0) A new challenge mode has been added WBI(world boss invasion) which is similar to co-op play but against various booses including types of bosses 1.twilight-(odin final boss) 2.thanos and the black order-(thanos infinity final boss) You will require 3 Characters to enter World Boss Invasion. With 2 other Agents, there will be 9 Characters in one Mission. (Once your Characters have entered, they will not be useable again until the next World Boss Invasion is open.) in this mode every single character of a player is able to compete regardless of their rank, masters, level or tier. This means that non-6★ Characters can be entered, and they will be automatically ranked up (to max tier-2)to help you take on the Invasion.they are three different types of stages- Each stage has random goal to finish. Example)

  • Boss Mode for an epic battle
  • Point Mode requires you to reach a certain amount of points to win
  • Link Mode which will share all your HP and fight against a strong boss

After beating a Boss, a Supply Chest will be obtained which has various kinds of items. Supply Chests require a certain amount of time to open, however it can be also be instantly opened by using Crystals. Each mission uses energy to play. Energy is gained by leveling up your SHIELD base, or through in game rewards and achievements. There are over 60 different playable heroes, each with unique skills and attacks. The player can have a maximum of 5 teams set up. There are also team bonuses, which, if the player has certain members on the team give buffs to the team members. Heroes are unlocked and ranked up by obtaining Biometrics, which can be found in certain missions as well as the shop. Heroes can also be leveled up through the use of EXP chips. Players are able to customize heroes to their playstyle, such as upgrading skills, gear, and equipping ISO-8 gems. Upgrading skills makes them do more damage, upgrading gear improves a specific part of the hero, like HP or Attack Speed, and equipping ISO-8 provides varying buffs. In the shop, in addition to Biometrics, players can also buy chests, energy, clear tickets, ISO-8, Biometric packages, and other supplies. There is a separate store for uniforms. Uniforms typically grant buffs to the hero, like extra damage to a class. There is also a SHIELD Lab, which has four possible buildings that can be built: an Antimatter generator, a Warping device. Converter, and a mini-store. The Antimatter generator generates Antimatter used to build, upgrade, and use the other devices. The Warping device allows players to warp three heroes on missions, and the heroes eventually return with rewards. All heroes used are still playable in missions. The mini-store stocks frequently changing items, such as upgrading items, ISO-8, and sometimes even Biometrics. The converter converts two already owned biometrics to a biometric of a random hero in a set of heroes that is also frequently rotated, it also converts two norn stones from one type to another.[2]

The game also features a Journey tab, in which players complete certain objectives or missions to gain a reward.

Playable characters

Marvel: Future Fight currently features 103 playable characters as of January 1/10/2017.[3] Playable characters can be both tier-one or tier-two, and can be ranked and mastered from 1 to 6 stars, through biometrics and norn stones respectively. A fully geared and mastered 6 star character unlocks the ability to advance it to tier two, if it exists for the character (except in the case of Black Order characters and Doctor Strange obtained with tier two status). Not all character biometrics though are obtainable through Story and Special Missions, others can only be obtained via Event Quests, World Boss Raids, Battleworld Raids, Token Shops, Dimension Chests, Dimension Shiftings, Dimension Rifts, and Monthly Bonus Deals - in the case of both Carnage and Hyperion. When the player completes missions, the player earns experience to allow their character to level up.

Each character is assigned to one of four types: Blast, Combat, Speed and Universal. There are relationships between these classes and certain character types have an advantage over others. Characters with type advantage against the opponents gains increased damage at a certain percent while the opponents loses damage at a certain percent. For example, three star heroes and four star heroes gains higher percentage of damage compared to two star heroes.
