In the VR Troopers Universe, Grimlord has these Mutants and Cyborgs lurking in the Virtual Dungeon.

Mutants and Cyborgs list

Here is a comprehensive list of several other Mutants and Cyborgs they infested the Dungeon (in order of appearance by episode airdate), but made one or few other appearances in the series:

Kongbot

File:Kongbot.JPG
Kongbot (After Launching His Left Fist)
  • First Appearance: "The Battle Begins, Part 1" (09/03/94)

The first robot that JB and Kaitlin faced after becoming VR Troopers. He is a gorilla-themed robot with a flying fist attack. His knuckles are sharp spikes and sort of resemble maces. Kongbot was having his way with JB and Kaitlin until Professor Hart informed JB that he has a laser lance. To test out his new weapon, he shoved it through Kongbot's stomach, forcing him to surrender, then JB quickly destroyed him anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Metaborg

Metaborg (First Tank-Like Form)
File:Metaborg2.JPG
Metaborg (Second Humanoid Form)
  • First Appearance: "Error in the System" (09/14/94)

Voice Actor: Tom Wyner

Grimlord created a computer virus that infected all computer systems, including the Professor! Grimlord even impersonated the Professor and had the Troopers out on missions that would destroy them. Ryan and Kaitlin were sent on a wild goose chase while JB was alone fighting Metaborg. Metaborg started off a small tank-like creature, but then assumed a full humanoid form. He was very strong and JB was outnumbered against Metaborg and Grimlord's Quantum Cruisers. After a recharge from Kaitlin, JB finally destroyed Metaborg with his "Laser Lance" command, first stabbing him through the stomach, forcing him to surrender, then finishing him off anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Laserbot

File:Laserbot.JPG
Laserbot

A samurai-themed robot who accompanied General Ivar in his attack at the time when Ryan lost his memory. Laserbot could fire lasers from the concealed blasters on his arms. Fought and defeated by JB's Laser Lance command in battle. JB blasted Laserbot's gem-like apparatus in the center of his head, which seemed to slow him down and disable his lasers. Laserbot would appear again in Season 2 (alongside Shoulderbot) to fight against JB in the "Dream Battle". JB once again defeated him, this time by simply by breaking his mid-head, gem-like apparatus. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

The Eliminator

File:Eliminator.JPG
The Eliminator
  • First Appearance: "Battle For the Books" (09/16/94)
  • Voice Actor: Gardner Baldwin

A computer-resembling robot used to attack the Central Library. Unlike most mutants, The Eliminator demonstrated no language abilities. It had the ability to predict all of JB's moves before they were used, using its' downloaded battle information, thus making it difficult for JB to attack the robot. Every anticipated maneuver was displayed on a small monitor on the Eliminator's chest. Eventually though, he was destroyed by JB and his laser lance command after being briefly stunned by JB and Kaitlin's VR Double Team. First JB stabbed The Eliminator through the stomach, forcing him to surrender, then finished him off anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Slice and Dice: Swordbot Brothers

File:Slicedice.JPG

The Swordbot Brothers are both siblings who were assigned to destroy Ryan Steele. Slice was an expert with the sword and Dice with the naginata. After their first defeat, they gave Ryan a clue that Tyler was still alive. The brothers would make returning appearances during the first season. Ryan fought Slice after Air Stryker and Fighterbot destroyed Tyler Steele's moutain lab after Dark Heart's repairs. Dice went one on one with Ryan to prevent him from saving Pointdexter, who was repairing the Virtualizers. Fits the category of Decimator's army.

J.B.'s fight with Spiderbot was difficult as Spiderbot had many hidden tricks. He also has rocket boots for flight. Spiderbot's head could flip open to reveal a weapon that discharged electrical beams. JB used his gun to blast off the monster's arms, but Spiderbot had one more weapon, the ring on his back. The ring wrapped around JB, restraining him. JB broke free and destroyed him with the Laser Lance. First stabbing him through the stomach giving him heartburn, then he cured his heartburn by finishing him off. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

  • Voice Actor: Eddie Frierson

A rifle toting desperado robot reccomended by Grimlord himself that wore a brown overcoat and hat, which he would then throw off at the start of his battle against J.B. (his hat exploded on the ground after throwing it). He and J.B. then had a showdown, which he would eventually lose. Gunslinger (who initially spoke somewhat like Clint Eastwood in the Dirty Harry movies) had a force-field-like shield which would deflect JB's attacks. When Kaitlin came in to aid JB, she was severely wounded and unable to continue the battle. As she pleaded to JB to destroy the robot for her, JB flew into a rage over what Gunslinger did to Kaitlin and delivered a beating, eventually shorting out Gunslinger's shield. Gunslinger had a conniption fit once his shield was shorted out. JB then shorted out Gunslinger himself permanently by destroying him with the "Laser Lance" command, first stabbing him through the stomach, forcing him to surrender, then finishing him off anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

  • Voice Actor: Richard Epcar (with Zelton as him)

Colonel Icebot constructed Graybot. Graybot had the ability to disguise himself as a human, named Jeremy, and was assigned to befriend the Troopers so he could gain access to their secrets. Kaitlin seemed to have a crush on Jeremy and was quick to defend him when Ryan and JB grew suspicious. In his true form, Graybot possessed superhuman strength and shot arrows from his wrist. Eventually he was defeated in battle by Ryan. He initially survived Ryan's Lightning Hand Command, but eventually after wearing himself out by continuing to battle, he fell over and exploded. Zelton briefly transformed into Graybot during his battle against Ryan since he fits the category of Zelton's army.

Cobrot went after JB while Metalbot went after Ryan. Cobrot could blast arrows from the bow on her hand, and crack her tail like a whip. JB destroyed Cobrot using his "Laser Lance" command, after being tossed overhead after he charged at her a few times. He made other appearances as a background/supporting character. Crabor fought Ryan once more during a Reality Virus outbreak. He had the ability to produce green slime on his tongue and lug it at opponents. Also, he can turn his right hand into a crab-like claw and breathe fire. Crabor was later seen as one of Grimlord's warriors that challenged Transmutant. The clash with Transmutant nearly killed him. Fits the category of Toxoid's army.

This walrus-like creature had the power to freeze anything with ice blowers built into its' hands. JB and Kaitlin's VR suits were overpowered by the cold. After a hasty retreat, the Professor gave them antifreeze protection to withstand the freeze ray. The fight was in the Trooper's favor, but the monster also had a flamethrower as backup. To defeat it, Ryan fired an ice beam from the Skybase to freeze the monster in place. This enabled JB to finish it with his "Laser Lance" command. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Cannonbot grew a second cannon-shaped head from within his body to replace the one Ryan had broken off of him. After blasting at Ryan a few times, he was destroyed in battle, against Ryan and his "Lightning Hand" command. Cannonbot was rebuilt and returned to prevent Ryan from making off with the real Dark Heart. Dream Master

File:Dreammaster.jpg
Dream Master
  • First Appearance: "Nightmares" (10/31/94)

Dream Master is a mutant robot who is capable of attacking the Troopers through their dreams. He seems to resemble a humanoid Greek Olympian and wore a gauntlet on his one arm. He took advantage of Kaitlin's stress by inducing nightmares of her being outnumbered by Skugs. He challenged Ryan to battle, all while instilling Ryan with the fear of never finding his father. Ryan fought against Dream Master's headgames and won using his "Lightning Hand" command after redirecting the electrical current to Dream Master, thanks to a chain that just happened to be lying around in a box. He then reappeared at the start of Season 2 as the mutant that challenged Amphibidor, aka the mutant who tried to cover up his plans for a mutiny against Grimlord. After a brief battle, Dream Master finally surrendered to Amphibidor. Fits the category of Decimator's army.

Spikebot

File:Spikebot2.JPG
Spikebot (First Form)
File:Spikebot.JPG
Spikebot (Second Form)

In addition to the Dream Master, the robot Spikebot was created to cause more trouble for Ryan. JB intercepted Spikebot and made short work of him with his "Laser Lance" command. Spikebot started out in an alternate form with the word "Edison" written on his body; the reason or purpose of this form was never explained. Spikebot did mention that he would transform into a more uncomfortable form into order to battle JB. JB did not seem to care either way, and was quick to say that the robot's new spikier form "was still ugly." Spikebot then commented that flattery will get him nowhere. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Pollenbot

File:Pollenbot.JPG
Pollenbot
  • First Appearance: "Secret Admirer" (11/03/94)

A large, white, mobile spore that was capable of floating in the air. Pollenbot was created from the same toxins used to poison Kaitlin when she inhaled contaminated flowers given to her from a "secret admirer". J.B. used his gun to suck up Pollenbot and then destroyed it with his Laser Lance.

Vacbot

File:Vacbot.JPG
Vacbot
  • First Appearance: "Grimlord's House of Fear" (11/04/94)

A suburban neighborhood was plagued with stories of a haunted house; the house seemed harmless at first glance. Little did anyone suspect, Col. Icebot was using the house to secretly construct Vacbot in the real world. Vacbot was constructed with various household appliances and armed with a blasting vacuum, and a fan in his chest that could blow enemies away. He also could blast freezing ice from a built-in ice maker. He battled Kaitlin and J.B. in Cross World City and was destroyed by both of them in battle by their combined VR Double Team attack. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Chrome Dome and Minotaurbot

File:Renegadepartners.JPG
Chrome Dome (right) and Minotaurbot (left)

Assisting Renegade on his missions were two bumbling robots. One was a black cyborg with a silver head and laser bayonet weapon. The other was a blue robot with a white skull-like face, drill weapon, and laser rifle. These two weren't much use in battle on their own, but they served as a great decoy for Renegade's attacks and ambushes. The black one was once referred to as "Chrome Dome" by Spitbot during the obstacle course episode (and by the end credits). The other robotic warrior is sometimes known as Minotaurbot. They first mojor appearance is when they appeared with Renegade to help Renegade assist Metalbot into capturing a baseball prodigy. Due to their aiding of Renegade, and their appearance, they seem to fit into Zelton's army.

Shoulderbot

File:Shoulderbot.JPG
Shoulderbot
  • First Appearance: "Danger in the Deep" (11/08/94)

A robot with hidden gun turrets under his shoulderpads. The Troopers uncovered Grimlord's operation to destroy a dam which would lead to flooding Crossworld City. Shoulderbot was sent to stop them so the dam operation could be completed. Shoulderbot attacked Kaitlin by blasting a laser from the reddish circle from his forehead and nearly destroyed her. Later, JB confronted Shoulderbot and destroyed him. Shoulderbot (alongside Laserbot) would later appear in Season 2, to face off against JB and Kaitlin in the "Dream Battle". In the dream, Shoulderbot attacked Kaitlin and nearly destroyed her again, but she escaped. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Cranoid underestimated young JB and Kaitlin as young JB successfully performed the Laser Lance maneuver and destroyed Cranoid after he barely survived the VR Double Team attack, before his destruction, he mocked the laser lance as young JB's "kiddie flashlight". Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Venobot

File:Venobot.JPG
Venobot
  • First Appearance: "Defending Dark Heart Pt. 1" (11/14/94)

File:Vrunknown4.JPG
Rabidspore
File:Rabidspore2.JPG
Rabidspore (Alternate Form)
  • First Appearance: "Defending Dark Heart Pt. 3" (11/16/94)

During the "Defending Dark Heart" saga, Percy attempted to get back on Woody's good side by trying to relocate the virtual deathtrap that he, Kaitlin, and JB were imprisoned in. With a so-called Reality Break Detector, he successfully reopened the portal, but accidentally unleashed this floating organism. In the first part of "Quest for Power", this same spore-themed mutant accompanied Wolfbot into attacking Ryan and J.B. Icebot had injected it with the knowledge that Grimlord syphoned from Tyler, making it more powerful. Rabidspore could metamorph itself into a flat starfish-like mass and wrapped itself around J.B. Defeated by J.B. as he impaled it with his Laser Lance. Fits the category of Col. Icebot's monsters.

Horrorbot

File:Horrorbot.JPG
Horrorbot
  • First Appearance: "Endangered Species" (11/21/94)
  • Voice Actor: Michael Sorich

A gray robot that looked like a pile of tubes with green boots and armed with a pointed harpoon. Horrorbot is a hunting specialist. On his first appearance, Horrorbot led a hunting party on a wildlife preserve to capture a pair of unusual wombats. By doing so, Ziktor would be able to tear down the preserve. Ryan, with the unlikely help of the wombats, fought against Horrorbot and the Mutant Skugs. He would return again, this time assisting Terminoid in tracking down a special formula. He imprisoned Ryan in a deep ditch and tried to bury the Trooper alive, but Ryan escaped and knocked Horrorbot into the ditch. Horrorbot begged Ryan to save him, which Ryan tried to do. He repaid Ryan's generosity with more aggressive attacks, so Ryan used his Lightning Hand to slice Horrorbot in half and thus defeated him. Fits the category of Decimator's army.

Footbot

File:Footbot.JPG
Footbot

It was football season for Cross World City's high school team, but their coach had gone missing. Coachless, the team was ready to fall apart until the Troopers and Tao offered their services. Meanwhile, Col. Icebot created a football-themed robot called Footbot. Footbot could remove the football above his head and kick or throw it towards an opponent. When the football struck the opponent it would detonate like a bomb. He seemed to have unlimited supplies of these footballs. Footbot made short work of Kaitlin, taking her out of the battle early on. Footbot also attacked JB by making like a battering ram, charging head-first at JB and knocking him down. In now missing scenes, JB caught the football and tossed it back at Footbot, creating an explosion. Eventually though, he was finally defeated by JB and his Laser Lance's finishing maneuver, in now missing scenes, first JB stabbed Footbot through the stomach, forcing him to surrender, before destroying him anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Terminoid

File:Terminoid.JPG
Terminoid
  • First Appearance: "Friends in Need" (11/30/94)
  • Voice Actor: Steve Kramer

A copper-colored bat-resembling robot. Along with General Ivar, Terminoid captured a pair of foreign scientists in order to steal a special formula that threatened Ziktor's control over the city's energy sources. Before getting the formula, Kaitlin rescued the scientists and JB defeated him. Terminoid attacked a lot by biting. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Electrobot

File:Electrobot.JPG
Electrobot
  • First Appearance: "Good Trooper, Bad Trooper" (02/06/95)

Grimlord used this robot to charge up the other robots. Electrobot had long cable-like arms and his body resembled that of a blue landmine with microchip detail. Destroyed by JB by the laser lance command. JB first stabbed it through Electrobot's stomach, rather than forcing him to surrender, it knocked him off of a cliff, he then got up, angered, but was quickly cooled off by JB finishing him off. In Season 2, Electrobot would be seen in the background of the scrap-pile during Knighttime's mutiny when he created Conatron. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Samson

Samson
  • First Appearance: "Good Trooper, Bad Trooper" (02/06/95)

In addition to Electrobot and the Ryan clone, Colonel Icebot constructed new "warriors" for Grimlord's army. However these warriors looked like nothing more than ridiculous wind-up toys. But one in particular proved fierceful in both power and appearance. Icebot named this strongman robot Samson. Samson didn't say much and used sheer muscle and brute force against JB and Kaitlin. But an accidental shock from Electrobot and Kaitlin's snipping his wires, Samson was destroyed. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Transmutant

File:Transmutant.JPG
JB in the form of Transmutant
  • First Appearance: "The Transmutant" (02/07/95)
  • Voice Actor: Michael Bacon

Strictland invented a special green slime that turned people into monsters. However it only worked in the virtual world and was good for a one time use. When JB was seeking a quiet place to study, he was ambushed by Skugs and taken to the Battle Grid where he was administered the formula. JB slowly transformed into a green, silver-haired mutant with long claws. Transmutant can dissolve into slime. Grimlord tested him in battle where Toxoid used Venobot, Bugbot, and Crabor on him. Under Grimlord's control, he was assigned to kill Ryan. During mid-battle, Ryan saved JB from falling off a cliff. JB was confused with Ryan's actions; so Ryan made effort to reason with him. Finally free of Grimlord's control, both Troopers fought off Wolfbot, Crabor, Bugbot, Venobot, and the Mutant Skugs together, and eventually JB was restored to normal again. Transmutant seems to fit the category of Toxoid's army.

NOTE: Despite the lack of a JB test subject, and the one time use clause, the Transmutant could be seen on more than one occasion in the background of the Virtual Dungeon!

Wolfbot

File:Wolfbot.JPG
Wolfbot

A white-furred wolf-like mutant with detachable black spider on his back. Wolfbot was extremely ferocious and would use his claws and fangs to attack Ryan. Wolfbot also had the ability to shoot webbing to bind his victims. Wolfbot's moments in the season included participating in the Dark Heart hunt where it used its webbing on him, winning Grimlord's obstacle course, battling Ryan and JB when JB recovered from his Transmutant brainwashing, and finally batting Ryan solo after getting upgraded with virtual powers extracted from Tyler Steele. When Ryan killed the spider on his back, Wolfbot fell down dead. Fits the category of Toxoid's army.

Rollbot (Ball Form)
  • First Appearance: "Who's King of the Mountain?" (02/08/95)
  • Voice Actor: Eddie Frierson

A yellow robot that had the ability to turn into a ball and also had the strength to toss heavy boulders. He assisted General Ivar into trapping J.B. on an old mountain which was really a dormant volcano. J.B. eventually escaped the trap and destroyed Rollbot with his "Laser Lance" command after he was completely unaffected by the VR Double Team attack of JB and Kaitlin. First JB stabbed Rollbot through the stomach, forcing him to surrender, then destroyed him anyway. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Combax

File:Combax1.JPG
Combax
  • First Appearance: "The Couch Potato Kid" (02/09/95)
  • Voice Actor: Matt K. Miller

Inspired by the Troopers, Grimlord sets up his own ruthless obstacle course for his army to sharpen their skills. The one that didn't compete was Combax, a military soldier-looking robot. Combax refused to participate claiming he was already the best warrior in the competition, and Grimlord agreed. Combax then captures Tao's nephew, which lures Ryan to the obstacle course against overwhelming odds. Ryan eventually survives the obstacle course and defeats Combax with the Lightning Hand command. Fits the category of Decimator's army.

Mechanoid

File:Mechanoid.JPG
Mechanoid
  • First Appearance: "The Old Switcharoo" (02/10/95)
  • Voice Actor: Kirk Thornton

He was assigned to guard the special transference device that caused Ryan and Jeb to switch bodies. His bulky structure which Kaitlin described as a "walking jukebox" and heavy claw arm made the battle difficult for JB and Kaitlin. JB and Kaitlin tried their VR Double Team attack but saw that it was useless when Mechanoid commented that it tickled. It still seemed hopeless when JB's laser lance impalement was laughed off as if it tickled, when it forced most bots to surrender, but Mechanoid still fell to the usual laser lance slashing, but requiring much more slashing than most bots. After Mechanoid was destroyed by JB, Grimlord blew up the device causing Ryan and Jeb to switch back. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Fiddlebot

File:Fiddlebot.JPG
Fiddlebot

Grimlord was fed up with Col. Icebot's robots, so he decided to make one himself. To finish his creation, he ordered Skugs to capture Kaitlin's cousin, Keith, a member of the Young Dubliners. Keith was imprisoned within Fiddlebot's body. As Fiddlebot, he could attack simply by playing a fanfare on his fiddle, which in turn would scramble Ryan's circuits, rendering him unable to move. He was impervious to all of Ryan's attacks. Ryan eventually defeated him by distracting him with a surprise Lightning Hand attack (which actually didn't harm him), removed his power source, and then rescued Keith. Fits the category of Zelton's army.

Vanbot

File:Vanbot.JPG
Vanbot
  • First Appearance: "New Kids on the Planet" (02/20/95)
  • Voice Actor: Bob Papenbrook

Vanbot was a humanoid black SUV used to kidnap a pair of alien children. He could disguise himself as a regular van and switch into his true form at will, trapping his occupants inside. Eventually JB was able to rescue the children and defeat Vanbot with his "Laser Lance" command while riding on his VR Fighter Bike. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.

Skullbot

Skullbot
  • First Appearance: "Message From Space" (02/22/95)
  • Voice Actor: Tom Wyner

A skeleton-looking mutant dressed in a black tunic and armed with a scythe. A scientist was delivering a message to Ryan concerning Tyler Steele. Skullbot and Skugs intercepted the message, replaced the scientist with a robotic double, and set up a fake briefcase filled with explosives. Once the Troopers discovered the fake briefcase, they saved the real scientist and Ryan defeated Skullbot with his "Lightning Hand" command. Fits the category of Zelton's army.

Amphibidor

File:Amphibador.jpg
Amphibador

A green frog-like mutant who can dissolve into slime and return to normal as well as spew acid-like liquid from its mouth. He planned to start a revolution against Grimlord, but failed when Grimlord found out. To prove himself loyal to Grimlord, Amphibidor fought Dream Master and used his slime-dissolving ability which caused Dream Master to surrender. Amphibidor fought Ryan and eventually damaged his armor. Despite interference from Ballistix and Cannon Nose, Amphibidor was eventually defeated by Ryan. Fits the category of Toxoid's army.

Sharkfin

A shark-themed robot who fought Kaitlin and J.B. in the present while Ryan traveled into the past to save his younger self from Strictland. Defeated by JB. Fits the category of General Ivar's Machine Men army.
