If anybody has a thought on that and whether it should be mentioned in the article, it would be appreciated.

Mothers of Invention members

Was Don ever an actual member of the Mothers, or did he just play as a guest on one or more occasions? — Gwalla | Talk 05:36, 1 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

He was never a member -- in fact he only played on one song, "Brown Shoes Don't Make It". As far as I know, Ellis never played live with the Mothers. Ellis and Zappa were on similar scenes in California; several of Zappa's sidemen played with Ellis at times, including Don Preston, Ralph Humphrey, George Duke, Alan Estes, John Guerin, Tommy Tedesco, Mike Altschul, Dave Parlato, Glenn Ferris, and Jock Ellis. -Matt Endahl

According to the ratings definitions, I would give this biography of Don Ellis a solid B. It has some of the more important information about Ellis, but there are gaps. Having said that, I suggest this article be submitted to wikiproject biography. Takeitupalevel 02:27, 4 March 2007 (UTC)[reply]
