Inspired (Schools Group)

Hi there! I created Draft:Inspired (Schools Group). The article has been properly stated as a COI contribution. Thank you for reviewing the draft! I have cleaned it up of unnecessary biased language. Will you kindly advise on how to improve the style before I resubmit, in order for it to be moved into the public space? It would be much appreciated! -- Page Perigrination (talk) 07:57, 18 September 2018 (GMT+2)

Portal:Cotingas

@AmericanAir88: The Portal:Cotingas needs your help, I changed the article List of cotingas into chart form and know the portal is upset. It's saying Lua error:No page specified in the Selected general articles section. And another thing in the Selected images section it's only showing two pictures, when it should be showing way more then that. And just to let you know User:Transhumanist won't be able to do any work any time soon and mabe never again since some editors want him banned from Wikipedia for ever, they say his work is terrible.Catfurball (talk) 21:47, 1 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

An article you recently created, Special routes of U.S. Route 12, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 15:37, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@CASSIOPEIA: Thank you. I will add the citations later today. I believe I am responsible enough to move to article space when the article is ready. I am an AFC reviewer. AmericanAir88(talk) 16:10, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Hi American Air88, greetings. the source you provided [1] could not be found. Secondly provide significant coverage and not only one source of indepedent, reliable sources (inline citation pls). If you want to move to main space AFTER you have added the sources, do so, I have place the article on my watchlist. Thank you. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 16:28, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
@CASSIOPEIA: Thank you for letting me eventually move it to main space. Also, I never added that source. The article I created was just the code. If you noticed my edit summary “will add citations later” last night. That source must have been added by someone else. Thank you. AmericanAir88(talk) 17:05, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
Hi AmericanAir88, yes it was added by other editor - see here [2]. Cheers. CASSIOPEIA(talk) 17:09, 6 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Splitting shipwreck lists

When you split a month list from a year list, you need to use the {{copied}} template on the talk page. This is for copyright attribution. Mjroots (talk) 09:04, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

@Mjroots: Thank you for that. I will continue to add new lists with this template. Any years you need me to focus on? AmericanAir88(talk) 19:27, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
No particular years. If you feel a month would benefit from splitting off then feel free. Don't forget to check for broken references when you split a list, on the maind and new list, and add the template to the talk page of the split list. Mjroots (talk) 20:13, 12 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Your GA nomination of Hutchinson River Parkway

The article Hutchinson River Parkway you nominated as a good article has passed ; see Talk:Hutchinson River Parkway for comments about the article. Well done! If the article has not already been on the main page as an "In the news" or "Did you know" item, you can nominate it to appear in Did you know. NPR Newsletter No.17

Hello AmericanAir88,

News
Discussions of interest
  • Two elements of CSD G6 have been split into their own criteria: R4 for redirects in the "File:" namespace with the same name as a file or redirect at Wikimedia Commons (Discussion), and G14 for disambiguation pages which disambiguate zero pages, or have "(disambiguation)" in the title but disambiguate a single page (Discussion).
  • {{db-blankdraft}} was merged into G13 (Discussion)
  • A discussion recently closed with no consensus on whether to create a subject-specific notability guideline for theatrical plays.
  • There is an ongoing discussion on a proposal to create subject-specific notability guidelines for chemicals and organism taxa.
Reminders
  • NPR is not a binary keep / delete process. In many cases a redirect may be appropriate. The deletion policy and its associated guideline clearly emphasise that not all unsuitable articles must be deleted. Redirects are not contentious. See a classic example of the templates to use. More templates are listed at the R template index. Reviewers who are not aware, do please take this into consideration before PROD, CSD, and especially AfD because not even all admins are aware of such policies, and many NAC do not have a full knowledge of them.
NPP Tools Report
  • Superlinks – allows you to check an article's history, logs, talk page, NPP flowchart (on unpatrolled pages) and more without navigating away from the article itself.
  • copyvio-check – automatically checks the copyvio percentage of new pages in the background and displays this info with a link to the report in the 'info' panel of the Page curation toolbar.
  • The NPP flowchart now has clickable hyperlinks.

WikiProject Quantum portals

This was a spin-off from WikiProject Portals, for the purpose of developing zero-page portals (portals generated on-the-screen at the push of a button, with no stored pages).

It has been merged back into WikiProject Portals. In the MfD the vote was "demote". See Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/Wikipedia:WikiProject Quantum portals.

Hiatus on mass creation of Portals

At WP:VPR, mass creation of Portals using semi-automated tools has been put on hold until clearer community consensus is established.

See Wikipedia:Village pump (proposals)#Hiatus on mass creation of Portals.

The Transhumanist banned from creating new portals for 3 months

See Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard#Proposal 1: Interim Topic-Ban on New Portals.

Until next issue...

I cannot believe we lost...

@Northamerica1000: and @The Transhumanist:

I have just read every page that has dealt with the recent controversy surrounding portals. It saddens me to see all my and your creations become red. We truly had something. We created an entire new genre of wikipedia articles. I look back at the success we had espically around New Years. I guess Wikipedia was not ready for it.

The Transhumanist: Do not feel bad or ashamed. You did the right thing. For almost a year, you saved a dying wikiproject and created a following of portal creations.

I will always stand by your side. You too NorthA. If you ever need any help with articles or settling debates, just ask. If you need me to contribute to my side of the argument for any portal deletions, just ask.

I am sorry that this happened. We will find a common project again. Maybe in the food and drink wikiproject industry, maybe in the Missing article area (huge backlogs), or maybe just dedication to improving wikipedia articles.

Never give up. Sometimes work can be stressful, but just know you always have people ready to back you up.

Talk to you soon and I look forward to editing with you soon. AmericanAir88(talk) 06:42, 17 March 2019 (UTC)[reply]
