Dear Tenant (Chinese: 親愛的房客) is a 2020 Taiwanese drama film directed directed by Cheng Yu-chieh starring Mo Tzu-yi, Chen Shu-fang and Runyin Bai.[1][2] The film was primarily filmed in Keelung city and contains themes such as homosexuality, euthanasia and adoption rights.
Plot
Lin Jian-yi (Mo Tzu-yi) is currently taking care of his landlord Zhou Xiu-yu (Chen Shu-fang), who suffers from diabetes and must undertake a surgery to amputate her calf. Following the death of Wang Li-gang (Jay Shih) whom he had a relationship with, Lin adopts Wang You-yu (Runyin Bai), the nine-year-old son of the now deceased Wang. On the surface, Lin appears to be a decent gentleman. After Zhou Xiu-yu's untimely death, his motives begin to be questioned. You-yu's uncle Wang Li-wei (Yao Chun-yao) returns to Keelung for her mother's funeral and finds out that ownership of the house has been transferred to Youyu, with Lin being his adoptive father. Wang suspects that Lin is actually after the house and killed his mother, with the police finding more damning evidence against Lin...
