Bonus track

"Angel Of Mercy" is a bonus track not on the original LP — Preceding unsigned comment added by 62.98.138.76 (talk) 14:19, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not so, according to the original LP sleeve. Ghmyrtle (talk) 14:25, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
i think it is a reissue, because i own an original Stax CD of this album,in which is written "Angel Of Mercy" was not on the original LP 62.98.138.76 (talk) 15:37, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]
i found where you took the image, it is a reissue and there is an asterisk on "Angel Of Mercy",like on my CD,which indicates "Angel Of Mercy" was not part of the original LP.Doing random search on the web is not the best way. 62.98.138.76 (talk) 15:46, 20 April 2022 (UTC)[reply]

here it is the image of back cover of "I'll Play The Blues For You" 2012 Stax/Concord remaster (cited in the article) where is written "Angel Of Mercy" was not part of the original LP. 37.100.101.28 (talk) 16:18, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
that's not the ORIGINAL LP sleeve, it is a reissue for sure (see Polydor Records?) 37.100.101.28 (talk) 16:19, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Numerous images of the original LP backcover and album side two record label show "Angel of Mercy" as track 4 on side two of the original LP (click on "More images" directly below the image of the album cover for each release I'll Play The Blues For You at Discogs (list of releases)). Additionally, a September 23, 1972 (year of original release), listing in Billboard includes "Albert King, 'I'll Play the Blues for You' Stax Cuts: 'I'll Play the Blues for You,' 'Answer to the Launder-mat Blues,' 'Angel of Mercy.'(emphasis added)"[1]
The note on the 2012 CD conflicts with the other album track listings. A link to a readable image of the original album track listing that lacks "Angel of Mercy" (too bad, great song) would show otherwise. Otherwise, there is nothing to change in the article.

I agree with you it is a great song, it was released as a single in 1972 but not included in the album, only later reissues included it (just because it is a great song I think)...but it is ok. 37.100.101.28 (talk) 17:48, 16 September 2022 (UTC)[reply]
