Wikipedia:Redirects for discussion/Log/2022 December 20

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Valkyrie Red (talk | contribs) at 23:24, 21 December 2022 (→‎Tlou (tv series)). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

This is a list of redirects that have been proposed for deletion or other action on December 20, 2022.

Jack Robichaux

Not a prominent name for the musician. I think the one mention of it in the AfD (about a different subject by the same name) may have just been a typo. In any event, it isn't widely used for the musician and doesn't appear in the article. It would be better to delete the redirect and reduce confusion with the Wikipedia hoax better known by this name. czar 20:25, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Foreign Policy Council

I nominated this version [1] for speedy deletion WP:G14 but @Justlettersandnumbers: redirected it to the current target. I don't think this is satisfactory: American Foreign Policy Council (AFPC) is not known as "Foreign Policy Council" and this redirect obscures the presence of other uses ([2]). Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 18:20, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tory party

Not sure this is what most people who are going to search "Tory party" would be looking for here. More likely to refer to the Conservative Party (UK), but wary about redirecting there as other conservative political parties are known by this outside the UK. Perhaps Tory Party (disambiguation)? Gingermead (talk) 17:51, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

I have heard the Conservative Party of Canada called Tories quite often So at the very least one of the entires there is valid.--65.92.162.81 (talk) 22:43, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
No doubt - but there are 27 Canadian parties listed. If they are all commonly called "Tories", which I don't believe for a moment, it must be super-confusing! Johnbod (talk) 17:23, 21 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Prince Richard

A minor royal, there's little evidence of a wp:primary topic. ‑‑Neveselbert (talk · contribs · email) 16:36, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sanathana Sarathi

There is no mention of "Sanathana Sarathi" at the target, and without a mention these redirects are confusing. I can't see another reasonable target. Shhhnotsoloud (talk) 15:28, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Life of Christ

A RM at Talk:Life of Christ in art#Requested move 8 December 2015 decided this redirect's current target; I disagree with this. The redirect should be retargetted to Life of Christ (disambiguation), because there is no primary topic for this title and it is the name of numerous works. I have already fixed all the incoming wikilinks. Veverve (talk) 15:00, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Standard primary habitability

The redirect target used to have information about this term: https://en.wikipedia.org/w/index.php?title=List_of_potentially_habitable_exoplanets&action=submit

But it's since been removed. I'm not sure if it's a term from a single source and thus not notable? -- Beland (talk) 10:52, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

It's a habitability metric formerly(?) used by a single source, the Planetary Habitability Laboratory - [3], [4]. It could potentially be mentioned in and retargeted to that article, but shouldn't be a redirect to the current target. SevenSpheres (talk) 15:38, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: For an opinion on the retarget suggestion. I have notified of this discussion at Talk:Planetary Habitability Laboratory as well.

King Combs

King Combs is mentioned on 20 other articles on Wikipedia. There's no reason why, without an article, his name should redirect to this one song, which wouldn't even appear to be his most notable song, so delete until an article can be made. Ss112 03:50, 13 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Home and Love within India

The following is an archived discussion concerning one or more redirects. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review). No further edits should be made to this section.
The result of the discussion was speedy delete. This is the result of what shows every sign of being page move vandalism, and if it isn't then it was clearly some very strange kind of mistake; either way it qualifies for speedy deletion. Either as G3 or as G6. JBW (talk) 12:19, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Not sure what this is supposed to refer to but it definitely isn't in the page. Rusalkii (talk) 08:00, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of the debate. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made on an appropriate discussion page (such as the redirect's talk page or in a deletion review).

South Melbourne Cecil Street

No mention at target. Even when this was created (three days after being deleted at AFD, see Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/South Melbourne Cecil Street) there was only a passing mention, one I do not think justified a redirect. This street is mentioned in passing at South Melbourne market, and perhaps elsewhere, but I think deletion is best here. A7V2 (talk) 07:58, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Selective-sliding

The current target section no-longer exists. I'm unsure if it would be best to target to some other section, or to target to Non-synchronous transmission (the target of crash gearbox) as this specific term isn't used in either article (nor was it used when the redirect was created) and I'm not even certain what exactly it is referring to, and if it is of the same type as a crash box. So perhaps deletion would be a better option. There is some usage (unhyphenated) on wikipedia in articles for older cars such as Locomobile Sportif and Chevrolet Light Six. Loophole (1981 film)/Archive

Was merged into the target in 2010. I don't see any obvious redlinks to move this to, so would suggest move without redirect to Talk:Loophole (1981 film)/Attribution/1 or suchlike, and tag with {{parallel version}}. -- Tamzin[cetacean needed] (she|they|xe) 06:00, 1 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tlou (tv series)

Unlikely abbreviation + capitalization combination Rusalkii (talk) 05:22, 20 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Sher Khan (2012 film)

Film does not exist. Redirect created in 2013 when it was reported but was never created. Bungle (talkcontribs) 09:50, 10 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Jamie Peacock (actress)

No evidence put forward that this is a suitable redirect - not mentioned in article. Boleyn (talk) 18:45, 3 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment - Jamie Peacock appears to have been a pseudonym of Kayzie Rogers. See [5]] and [6] (see entry for Super Smash Bros Ultimate). Not sure if this can be verified by reliable sources, a quick look didn't turn any up but there are a lot of questionable ones all saying the same thing (eg [7], [8] etc). Rubber Duck Entertainment (UK)

Not mentioned in target. Searching indicates this was a division of Contender Entertainment - which itself has a brief mention as having been acquired by Entertainment One. Delete unless something is added. MB 05:05, 11 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Social Surfing

Not mentioned in target article or Social network, thus leaving it unclear the connection between the redirect and any respective target article. However, this redirect is a {{R with history}} that was formerly an article created in 2009 that was subject to a WP:BLAR in 2011 Steel1943 (talk) 20:52, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

TMTP

Not mentioned in article. Appears to be an abbreviation for their album Tear Me To Pieces. Rusalkii (talk) 23:46, 12 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Delete Not a notable acronym. I could not find any mention of the album being referred to as "TMTP" RoostTC(ping me!) 06:39, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]
Retarget to Parras characodon, which has a CoL identifier of TMTP, as a onwiki search reveals. (Judging from filenames, Tuen Mun Town Plaza may be a plausible target too.) Duckmather (talk) 19:44, 14 December 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Relisting comment: Several suggestions and potential targets are being discussed. Also bundling TMTP which was mentioned in the discussion.
