The name Zane may be a given name or a surname. Its western usage derives from the Venetian form of Gianni or an alternate spelling of the German and Jewish name Zahn.[1] An Arabic name Zain, Zayn, or as it is often anglicized Zane, is an Arabic personal name meaning "beauty, grace". It was popularized as a given name in the early 20th century through the American writer Zane Grey. Zayne is an alternative spelling.
