Welcome to my Winter Wonderland!

Some general things to know about my Talk page...

  • If you write me here I will respond here. If you write me on your user talk page then please tag me there so I may respond there. If a discussion is begun in one location then please keep it there for the sake of continuity. I may move discussions to keep them in one place when they are related.
  • I will archive discussions regularly but no longer than 6 months at a time so if you don't see a particular discussion please look in my archives before alerting me.
  • I have some rules on my talk page I would appreciate being observed by everyone: be kind, be nice, and be understanding. Honesty is important and how you feel is valid but if you are upset by something I have done or said or something said here by others then please step back, take a deep breath, and approach me calmly- I'm totally willing to listen and will admit if I have made a mistake and apologize, especially, if I have offended you!
  • Sometimes it may take longer for me to reply. If a few days pass without a reply, please forgive me and send out a search and rescue team to find me. I undoubtedly fell into a hole somewhere. I will respond as soon as it is humanly possible for me to do so.
  • My talk page is regularly monitored by helpful Talk Page Watchers and Wiki-friends. They may comment or offer assistance from time to time and their presence is both wanted and appreciated. They are my guests as long as they don't eat all my cookies. :)

Question from Kalemire Paul Journey (09:28, 10 July 2023)

Hi , My name is Paul. How do I add my biodata and biography on Wikipedia? --Kalemire Paul Journey (talk) 09:28, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Kalemire Paul Journey and welcome to my talk page. I see this is your first edit under this user name. Were you editing under another user account or by IP before getting this account or is this your very first ever edit? I'm asking so I might can get a history for you and be able to help you better. As of right now what I gather is you want to add your information to Wikipedia?
I must caution you, Wikipedia is not social media site with profiles though each user is granted some leeway to add information to what we call a "User page". These pages are not published articles but give you some insight into who you are talking to and what our interests are on the encyclopedia or past work we've done here. In order to have a published article on the encyclopedia you must provide reliable independent sources which show why the subject, in this case you, are notable. Secondary sources as opposed to primary sources are preferable and sometimes necessary. I can list you a host of guidelines and policies which present this better than I could ever hope to.
The one thing often overlooked in these cases is the fact that having an article on Wikipedia is not simply a bio and is not controlled by you, the subject. The community and yes, even random IP's, can edit any article and you can not control what is added or taken away from any article where you are the subject. This is not to dissuade you but only give you context of what may transpire after an article is accepted, whether you write it or not. You should carefully think on this before proceeding. If you decide to do so then please look at the usual policies and guidelines such as WP:N, WP:V, WP:RS and WP:IS. You will also need to read WP:COI as you would be the subject of the article and therefore have a conflict of interest. I would strongly suggest not writing about yourself as WP:AUTO points out. We want biographies, not autobiographies. --ARoseWolf 17:01, 10 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from RaeOA90 on User:RaeOA90/sandbox (14:36, 14 July 2023)

I would like to 1) turn this from a draft into a real article and 2) rename is to "rick spees" how do I do that? --RaeOA90 (talk) 14:36, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello RaeOA90 and welcome to my talk page.
Two issues that stand out to me about the sandbox article you have written are:
1. There are no verifiably cited references to independent reliable sources (WP:RS & WP:IS).
2. The draft reads more like a book preface or website profile page. Too much promotional puffery (WP:PUFF).
In short, find sources and add them to a "References" section of the article (WP:CITE) and I would remove words like "significant", "prominant" and "accomplished". The subject is not notable because of the promotional words placed in this article. In writing an article about him we must allow the sources to do the majority of the talking while we simply paraphrase what they say in a neutral encyclopedic tone. I do not recommend moving the article or changing its name until the criteria above is met to satisfaction. --ARoseWolf 18:49, 14 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - is the updated version better? i've included more sources RaeOA90 (talk) 15:37, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
RaeOA90, the issue with it now is that it has been found to be a copyright infringement meaning a portion or portions of it too closely resemble what is found somewhere else online. Most every website has a copyright statement. We are not allowed to copy/paste from anywhere else. We also must paraphrase sources in a such a way as to not closely resemble what they wrote. Use your own words to describe a source. --ARoseWolf 16:47, 17 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK that's really helpful, I will do that RaeOA90 (talk) 16:21, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@ARoseWolf I am having trouble locating the draft; I think it might have been removed. Any idea how to get that back - Im changing most of the content but I would like to have my reference list easily accessible. RaeOA90 (talk) 16:39, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
RaeOA90, it was speedy deleted per the requirement as a copyright infringement. Due to legal issues that can arise Wikipedia must protect itself from these issues. Any article that is found to have copyright infringements must be scrubbed and cleaned of all infractions. In this case it was deemed to be almost completely an infringement and anything remaining would be unsalvageable. So the entire draft was deleted. I'm sorry. I know you feel you worked hard on it and I'm not doubting your intent, however, the draft could not remain available. It has not been salted so you can remake the draft. I must ask though, do you have a connection with the subject or the company he works for? --ARoseWolf 16:45, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I have met him once before for lunch and said in passing I thought he should have a wikipedia page and offered to do it. I dont know him well.
That is fine re: draft, I understand. I am (clearly) new to this and trying to follow along with all the rules and regulations, but concerned because as I'm trying to make these updates and edits, there is no other way to save them than to publish - unless i'm missing something. RaeOA90 (talk) 17:06, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
RaeOA90, There may be considered a conflict of interest but I think meeting him once for lunch isn't that big of a deal if that is all there is. You are not receiving compensation and you only met once? No other meeting has ever been set up or followed through on and you have no ties to his place of employment? --ARoseWolf 17:40, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
All of the above is correct. RaeOA90 (talk) 17:47, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Is there a way to save versions without publishing / confirming it looks okay with you so that I can ensure i'm not violating anything without realizing? RaeOA90 (talk) 18:06, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
RaeOA90, no, even drafts are considered published, and you are responsible to make sure you are not including copyright material. This is why it is important to make sure what you are including is in your own words but can be verified through reliable sources. Don't copy and paste anything and never just rewrite what you find verbatim. We can evaluate whether what you write meets notability requirements through the article review process but repeated copyright violations can lead to sanctions so please be careful. I suggest you read H:YFA. --ARoseWolf 18:20, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
OK I am going to try again now having taken all of this into careful consideration RaeOA90 (talk) 21:00, 26 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi - any update on this yet? thank you. @ARoseWolf RaeOA90 (talk) 19:40, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

On today's Main page, you can find a cantata that Bach first performed 300 years ago, and an iconic saxophonist from East Germany. Also: a bit about the history of QAI on my talk. Thank you for being part of it! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:24, 18 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

While today's DYK highlights Santiago on his day, I did my modest share with my story today, describing what I just experienced, pictured. I began the article of the woman in green. - Every time I pass the stone steps at the Abbey (pictured last year) I think of you, and last time I even took a picture, but it turned out too pale. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:59, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Red 8th Anniversary
In July 2015 around 15.5% of the English Wikipedia's biographies were about women. As of July 2023, 19.61% of the English Wikipedia's biographies are about women. That's a lot of biographies created in the effort to close the gender gap. Happy 8th Anniversary! Question from JustMakingJokeArticles (22:42, 20 July 2023)

Hi. I'm new, and I just wanted to make joke articles, can I do that? --JustMakingJokeArticles (talk) 22:42, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

No. --Tryptofish (talk) 22:57, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
But if you are serious about contributing content, you might want to change your user name. --Tryptofish (talk) 23:05, 20 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
JustMakingJokeArticles, Tryptofish has given you sound advice. You can not make "joke" articles but you can improve our article on jokes or Comedy. --ARoseWolf 14:51, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
ARoseWolf, I thought I'd just leave a few follow-up observations with you. When I first saw this post, I figuratively rolled my eyes and suspected NOTHERE, but then I also thought about AGF and BITE. The user made one subsequent edit to main space, which I checked, and it was a constructive edit (and not reverted by anyone so far). I have a gut feeling that the choice of user name is going to get some administrator's attention, and the name needs to be changed, but the editor may turn out to be OK. --Tryptofish (talk) 20:05, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I thought Wikipedia had a policy for Humor JustMakingJokeArticles (talk) 20:24, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
In that regard, I'd suggest looking at Wikipedia:Rules for Fools. It gives a good overview of what is OK, and what is not OK. --Tryptofish (talk) 20:27, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
While we're at it, I'll point you to Wikipedia:Changing username, because your current account name makes it sound like you are just here to create articles that are not allowed to be created, and you risk getting blocked over that username. --Tryptofish (talk) 20:31, 21 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, But how do I change my name? JustMakingJokeArticles (talk) 22:52, 10 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Aqibkhantaknik (12:56, 25 July 2023)

Hello...

Please guide me a bit, so that i may be always accurate and more useful for Wikipedia. i want to be top level editor of Wikipedia and want to promote Wikipedia knowledge more and more.

i know about sports, science, religion and geography of asia like things. --Aqibkhantaknik (talk) 12:56, 25 July 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I apologize for the delayed response, Aqibkhantaknik. Being accurate is important, being accurate to sources is required. Every editor in good standing is a useful member of this community. I will never discourage any goal you have even if I may offer insight. My suggestion is to read policy, start with small edits, read policy, don't create articles until you fully understand the mechanics and requirements, also read policy. It also would not hurt to read the discussions between other editors. You can glean a lot of information but reading those discussions. Anyway, those are a few suggestions. I'm sure there are others who can offer additional thoughts and perhaps even better advice. --ARoseWolf 13:39, 1 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

August music

my story today

My story today - a first - isn't about an article by me, but one I reviewed for DYK, see here. I like all: topic, "hook", connected article (a GA on its way towards FA), image and the music "in the background". I just returned from a weekend with two weddings, so I also like the spirit ;) - Pics to come, I promise one cake, the other was too large! Good music, and better even in the concert ending the second day, - Goldberg Variations theme for an encore, after Dohnányi Serenade, - you would have loved the cellist! -- Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:36, 7 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Again not by me: today's story - with the triumph of music over military - is uplifting! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 20:15, 9 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Now: picture of heart-shaped cake(s) uploaded! - Today's story is about a tenor, - why his roles are not linked on the Main page remains a mystery to me. Today is also the birthday of the Bayreuth Festival. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 21:25, 13 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Today is Debussy's birthday. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 15:24, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

This too shall pass. - Ten years ago on 28 August, I heard a symphony, with a heavy heart because of the pending decision in WP:ARBINFOBOX, and not worried about my future here but Andy's. - It passed, and I could write the DYK about calling to dance, not battle, and Andy could write the DYK mentioning about peace and reconciliation, - look. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:56, 28 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from TheAdorablesnowman (00:16, 19 August 2023)

Hello I want to make a wikipedia page on an article but the page already exists as a redirect link. For instance I want to make an article on UNLV Rebels women's soccer but the page exists as a redirect link. Can I still make the page? Do I just delete the redirect link from the page and make the article? Or something else. Thank you --TheAdorablesnowman (talk) 00:16, 19 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) User:TheAdorablesnowman, it appears ARoseWolf may be busy with off-wiki activities, so I've taken the liberty of responding to you while you wait.
It looks like your most recent draft article was approved, congratulations! However I do see you've had two drafts declined in the past week or so. While you're able to create an article at UNLV Rebels women's soccer by overwriting the redirect with article content, do you feel confident you understand Wikipedia's notability and sourcing requirements well enough to create a new article without a review process? If you create an unsuitable article it may be moved to draftspace. Also articles developed directly in mainspace are expected to be relatively complete and properly formatted from the get-go, although placing {{Under construction}} at the top of the page might help allay some of those concerns.
It might be better for you to write Draft:UNLV Rebels women's soccer until you have a bit more experience getting articles approved. The reviewer who accepts your article after it is submitted will understand how to move it on top of the redirect so you retain authorship attribution.
A middle of the road option might be to take your three best sources to the Teahouse and ask for a source review. It is a highly watched venue, so you'll be liable to get some quick feedback about whether or not an article is appropriate for the subject you're interested in at this time.
Hope this helps, and apologies to ARoseWolf if I've stepped on her toes. Folly Mox (talk) 00:50, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Jamelavuma (21:28, 22 August 2023)

Hi, i would like to know how publish my own article --Jamelavuma (talk) 21:28, 22 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Hi User:Jamelavuma! I thought I might give a partial answer while ARoseWolf is temporarily away. The main guidance for publishing a new article is at Help:Your first article, but there is a newer and more streamlined draft at User:Houseblaster/YFA draft that is a quicker read.
You may also want to have a look at the short user essays WP:BACKWARD and WP:42. Basically, you'll need to find reliable sources that talk about your topic in detail, because otherwise the topic will not be eligible for inclusion in the encyclopaedia. A number of help venues for newer editors are available with quick response times, the best of which is probably the Wikipedia:Teahouse. Please don't hesitate to reach out if you get stuck. Folly Mox (talk) 21:43, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from Michaellix76 on Tony Murano (10:10, 24 August 2023)

Hello! I wanted to create a page about Tony Murano. This is a famous photographer and filmmaker. I subscribe to his MNDmag magazine and also recently attended his workshop. I got information that someone tried to create such a page, but it was deleted. How can I create his page?

Thank you. Kind Regards, Michael --Michaellix76 (talk) 10:10, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) Hi User:Michaellix76 (that rhymes)! I thought I might try to offer a partial answer while ARoseWolf is temporarily away. It sounds like the previous effort to create an article about Tony Murano did not establish that he is an eligible topic for inclusion in the encyclopaedia. We call this (somewhat confusingly) "notability", but lots of famous, popular topics don't meet the threshold.
There is good, somewhat prolix, guidance for creating an article at Help:Your first article, and a briefer, more streamlined draft at User:Houseblaster/YFA draft.
The basics are that you'll need to find reliable sources that are independent of Tony Murano (so if he operates MNDmag, that will not count towards establishing notability; similarly any information from the institution or entity that hosts his workshops is not considered "independent"). The sources will have to talk about Tony Murano at some length— at least a few paragraphs. As a visual artist, he may be eligible under what's called a "specific notability guideline": WP:NARTIST. This criterion may be easier to meet than the general biography guideline WP:ANYBIO.
Creating a new Wikipedia article and having it accepted for publication is not always an easy task, and takes a not inconsiderable time investment. I encourage you to give it a go, provided you're able to find adequate published sources, to help improve Wikipedia's coverage of modern visual arts. Help is always available. The Teahouse is particularly good, and someone there is likely to respond quickly if you reach out for assistance. Folly Mox (talk) 21:56, 24 August 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(talk page watcher) User:Music Updater Uganda, ARoseWolf appears to be away for the moment, and has not edited since the beginning of August. I'm not familiar enough with the VisualEditor to offer you any help with the situation you describe. The policies about disclosing a connection to your employer are Paid Editing policy and Conflict of Interest. A barnstar for you!

The Special Barnstar
Whoa, it's been 6 months since I started editing here... time goes fast, I guess :) I've been reflecting on my experience as an editor these days and remembered this back when I was still named Shadow of the Starlit Sky ..... back then I recall you giving me advice to try to stay away from noticeboards as an uninvolved user. At the time I did not understand it but after a while later I realized that although I was acting in good faith at the time I was disruptive. I've just changed a lot as an editor since that piece of advice..... 6 months ago I was borderline disruptive and NOTHEREish in my actions, and now, after 1 GA, 3 DYKs and many, many reverts of vandalism I've fundamentally changed the way I edit, thanks to your advice. Seriously, you saved my life as an editor here. I cannot thank you enough :) #prodraxis connect 17:45, 5 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Prodraxis, this was a pleasant surprise this morning. I appreciate the barnstar a lot, your words even more. If anything it shows me that although I'm not a literary genius or a great orator, I do have a, admittedly small and sometimes seemingly insignificant, positive impact on a community and a project I have an immense love and care for. It's encouraging. However, I must say that all I did was give the right advice to someone willing and ready to listen. You applied that advice to change your approach. You put in the effort to adjust what you were doing and find a constructive path forward. So, you saved your life as an editor here. I just pointed you in a better direction. I could not be happier with the outcome and I am thankful to have you in this community. Congrats on the GA and all the little contributions along the way which usually go unnoticed. --ARoseWolf 14:17, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Your impact may seem insignificant, but I can promise you that it's much more than that. --Tryptofish (talk) 17:41, 6 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with Tryptofish here - you may think your impact is insignificant but in fact it is much larger - your civillity and kindness while mentoring others has always impressed me. #prodraxis connect 02:27, 7 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

(I think I pointed at him when you listened to people's songs.) - He still helps me, five years after he died, per what he said in my darkest time on Wikipedia (placed in my edit-notice as a reminder), and by teh rulez. - Latest pics from a weekend in Berlin (one more day to come). - Thank you for what you told Corbie! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 16:10, 19 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Gerda Arendt, I remember Ray. What a beautiful Song. --ARoseWolf 13:53, 20 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Well said - editor of the week so well deserved, and beautifully illustrated! Don't miss my story today. The Schreiber ref (BR) has an interview with his voice. It's in German, but I trust that you'll understand the spirit. He said that he hoped it would be Tristan music on his mind when he died, and that it wasn't length of life making life good but quality of life. Spoken a year before the diagnosis. --Gerda Arendt (talk) 22:08, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Oh Gerda, such a lovely story. And I more than understood the spirit of the interview. Our voices are part of the music of Earth. Yet we are a individual Song. It's amazing to me how we blend and dance around each other. The things I see with my ears. The things I hear with my eyes. The things I touch, not with my hands, but with my heart. Life is about exploring the music all around us and in each other. If you see it, if you hear it, if you ae touched by it, in that moment you've already lived a more fulfilling life than ten thousand otherwise. How can one not be excited for a new sunrise? I love my Wikipedia adventure. --ARoseWolf 13:06, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, you say that so well! - My story today is The Company of Heaven ("company" with a double meaning, but angelic company in the end). - No new pictures yet, it's a week with concert or opera every night! --Gerda Arendt (talk) 14:19, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Women in Green GA Editathon October 2023 - Around the World in 31 Days

Hello ARoseWolf:

WikiProject Women in Green is holding a month-long Good Article Edit-a-thon event in October 2023!

Running from October 1 to 31, 2023, WikiProject Women in Green (WiG) is hosting a Good Article (GA) edit-a-thon event with the theme Around the World in 31 Days! All experience levels welcome. Never worked on a GA project before? We'll teach you how to get started. Or maybe you're an old hand at GAs – we'd love to have you involved! Participants are invited to work on nominating and/or reviewing GA submissions related to women and women's works (e.g., books, films) during the event period. We hope to collectively cover article subjects from at least 31 countries (or broader international articles) by month's end. GA resources and one-on-one support will be provided by experienced GA editors, and participants will have the opportunity to earn a special WiG barnstar for their efforts.

We hope to see you there!

Well deserved. So many corners of this project are brighter thanks to you. Firefangledfeathers (talk / contribs) 01:01, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Wow, I feel overwhelmed by this. My Papa would be proud of you all, for once I am left speechless. Perhaps it is true that we are our own biggest critic because I don't feel deserving. There are far more impactful editors, I feel, who never get nominated for this much less are awarded. I will choose to trust the experience of those around me and I am very appreciative to Buster7, CT55555 and Hamid Hassani for the recognition. I have learned so much just being in contact with this project for the last three years. Thank you, Firefangledfeathers for you kind comment. You all are very thoughtful. Truly, my greatest blessing in life is the ability to hear the symphony that is us. --ARoseWolf 16:47, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are the 501st recipient and are just as worthy as ALL the rest put together. I have shared your idea of "our song and dance" with my freshman in college grandaughter. I hope you don't mind but it was so positive and profound in its simplicity. ―Buster7  17:23, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Buster7, on the contrary, I'm thrilled to know others are sharing it. I've always viewed us as strings, like a guitar. Our Song, our Life, is constantly playing on repeat. Each note has Color and even depth of Color. As we have experiences the Song grows and more colors are on display. When we encounter others, whether accepting or not, we are offering them a part of our Song. Like if you passed a flame from one to another. That is the impact we have on others. I take joy in knowing even in some small way, my Song will continue, impacted in my humankind, as a part of their own long after I am gone. That, to me, is the meaning of Life and the ultimate achievement. Be A Rainbow Today! 🌈 --ARoseWolf 17:58, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Congrats, ARoseWolf, well deserved. Best always, Carlstak (talk) 17:26, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, Carlstak. You are so kind. --ARoseWolf 17:58, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi dear ARoseWolf! Congrats for being chosen as the Editor of the Week! You deserved it. Good luck and go ahead! Regards, Hamid Hassani (talk) 19:26, 25 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Asareel, I am thrilled that your song and colors are known by so many. Sorry to be slow passing on my congrats, but we were so busy we had no access to internet last week. My bro and sister and I and all our families flew in for my mom's 90th birthday in Oklahoma. It was so cool to have a whole table full of nonagenerians (literally no agers) among the roomful of people whose lives she has touched. Reminds us all that our songs have so much impact that we may or may not know of. I appreciate you and your positivity. It makes a huge difference in the world. SusunW (talk) 13:47, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Susun, so thrilled to hear from you. Thank you for your amazing words and lovely support. We all get busy with life, I'm busy bustling around the homestead these days trying to get everyone whipped in shape for winter. I know you enjoyed your time in Oklahoma. I relly need to get back down there again. I stay in contact with my aunt and a few people I met but the distance does strain things somewhat. If you want a good laugh here's a read for you. Our Colors are beautiful. I can never show enough appreciation to Ian, Rosie and yourself for allowing me to see yours. You are the real inspiration, Susun. --ARoseWolf 18:44, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
{{hugs}} I loved the laugh. SusunW (talk) 21:24, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So well deserved! Truly, I am surprised that you haven't received this honor earlier. Sending you heaps of hugs. --Rosiestep (talk) 15:06, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Rosie, I cant begin to express what you and WiR have meant to me, personally. I tear up and get emotional thinking where I was just about two years ago. Fearful of the unknown that was happening in my body. Unsure and alone because of Covid restrictions. WiR and really Wikipedia was my outlet. You don't realize how seemingly small things can have a huge impact on someone going through something as serious as cancer. Two years ago, while I was at my lowest in dealing with the cancer treatments and being isolated from my only support system, my family, a task came up in WiR that I happily took on and assisted with. Through that I was able to focus on something that was a challenge but that allowed me to do something for a project here that I love deeply. It gave me purpose and through that it renewed my strength at a time when I couldn't escape to the mountains, couldn't listen to the Song of nature around me. I listened to another Song, your Song. That helped me more than I can ever explain and why I am forever grateful. --ARoseWolf 18:44, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
So grateful to read what you wrote here. You connect with me in a way that I can't explain. Sending you oxoxo. --Rosiestep (talk) 01:07, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I was touched to read what you said here, about how that helped you deal with that low point. That's very inspiring, truly. --Tryptofish (talk) 18:52, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Don't even get me started on how inspiring, motivating and important you have been for me, Tryp. Any award or recognition passed on to an individual editor here is never really about just that editor or their contributions. This is a community and sometimes we bicker and argue but I haven't met anyone here that doesn't inspire me in some good way. --ARoseWolf 19:00, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for practicing kindness. I'm glad to see your recognition. Folly Mox (talk) 19:02, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Folly Mox, You are so precious. Thank you for your attentiveness towards new editors and your thoughtful contributions. I appreciate your kindness directed at me. --ARoseWolf 19:18, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Congratulations for your well deserved recognition. You are the best, A! GenQuest "scribble" 01:15, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Taking this discussion here, in an effort to remove some heat from ANI

In this post you wrote I don't see the point in them calling themselves a liar. Based upon my reading of everything written by Veganpurplefox in that section of ANI, I simply can not understand the basis of your comment. Nowhere does that editor call themselves a liar, or refer to autistic people as a group as liars. Perhaps I am wrong about that, and I simply missed the posts where the editor made such claims. What I did read - and I know I am repeating myself here - was a clear, unambiguous, false statement by Veganpurplefox that "neurotypicals" (i.e., people who are not autistic) are unremitting liars. That claim, I note, has not been stricken or removed, even though the author has subsequently commented in that section, so I conclude that they stand by it. You and I clearly disagree that the statement is a violation of our policies and guidelines against personal attacks. That's fine, as reasonable, good-faith editors often disagree about things. What I don't understand is how you can so seemingly easily brush aside that...claim...by interpreting it as a "point[less]" attack against themself.

As you already know, you are certainly under no obligation to respond to this note, and indeed you can revert this entire section if you wish. I have and will have no problem with that. If you do respond (I will watchlist this page for a short while) that would likely be helpful to me, as I recognize the distinct possibility - it would not be the first time, and unfortunately probably not the last - that I have completely misunderstood things written by other editors. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 16:15, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

JoJo Anthrax, ah, I see. I am the one that misunderstood. I took it that they were saying that, because they are autistic others believe they are lying especially with how adamant they are about their innocence. Clearly they are saying non-autistic or Neurotypicals are liars which would be a personal attack. Thanks for coming to me. I will clarify. --ARoseWolf 16:39, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for both the quick response here and the ANI clarification. I hope Veganpurplefox responds positively to your good advice. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 16:50, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sometimes I focus a little too hard on what I perceive a person's intent is. That is why I clarified my point that, regardless of intent, the statement, as it is written, is a personal attack and should be struck. In that vein of knowing how I perceived their feelings I hope it clarifies my "pointless" comment. Thank you for giving me the opportunity to clarify. --ARoseWolf 16:53, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Of course it has been clarified, and thanks again for doing so. I recognize that while I immediately jumped upon Veganpurplefox's unfortunate statement, you have made numerous efforts to help them. I will remember that, and going forward try to follow your model more often, as in this case my response doesn't seem to have had any positive impact upon them. Thanks also for this unpointless (is that a word?) discussion. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 17:09, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Civil discussion is very important, really paramount and this one no less. No, it doesn't appear that the advice offered has been taken and that is regrettable but I hold out hope it will in the end. I've seen you around the encyclopedia, JoJo, and I love reading the thought that goes into your comments and responses. You do good work from what I've seen and I appreciate you a lot. --ARoseWolf 18:27, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You are too kind, and you have done much more than me to improve the encyclopedia. I look forward to working with you in the future. JoJo Anthrax (talk) 10:32, 3 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Question from A-Neurodivergent-NerdyWeeb (15:52, 23 October 2023)

Hello! I am wanting to edit/add on to a Wikipedia article about an author. It only talks about one of her books and I wanted to add info about another. I have read the Book Duology 4 times and am currently reading it for the fifth. I do not have any resources or websites to cite just my pure knowledge on the book. I know almost everything about it like when it was published, who it was by, the book names, the story, etc. I do not think that is trustworthy enough to people who read the article. Do you know what I should do? --A-Neurodivergent-NerdyWeeb (talk) 15:52, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, A-Neurodivergent-NerdyWeeb, and welcome to my talk page. Can you tell me which author you are referencing? --ARoseWolf 17:40, 23 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I forgot to mention you in my last question so I will now @ARoseWolf I messaged you a moment ago and forgot to Mention you so you can see it! --A-Neurodivergent-NerdyWeeb (talk) 16:15, 23 October 2023 (UTC) I am new to editing Wikipedia and have only viewed articles before so I am still figuring all this out.
