Whittle engine

Dr. Hatfield was responsible for the development of Rex 78, a stainless steel that was used in the turbine blading of Frank Whittle's early engines, e.g., Power Jets W.1, etc. - there's a mention of Whittle writing him a 1941 thank you note here: [1] — Preceding unsigned comment added by 86.112.68.219 (talk) 20:52, 21 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]
