Fred Burri was an Swiss-American wrestler and yodeler from Portland, Oregon employed by Mt. San Antonio College and the Disneyland Resort in Anaheim, California.
Fred Burri's claims his swiss heritage from his parents.[2] It is from this heritage that he was introduced to Schwingen, a form of Swiss wrestling, joining the Multnomah Wrestling Club of Portland.[3]
After attending Oregon State University, he was recruited to coach football at Whittier College. Then coaching at Mt. San Antonio College for 34 years from 1957 to 1992.[4]
Burri's career at Disneyland began in the early 1960s. [5] Burri also appeared in the films Magic Matterhorn (1995) and A Walk in the Clouds (1995).[6] He recorded three albums of Volksmusik and Yodeling.[7]
Fred Burri died at his home on March 20th, 2023.
