Duta Wacana Christian University (DWCU) is a University at Jogjakarta, Indonesia. Duta Wacana Christian University was established and run by the Foundation of Christian High Education of "Duta Wacana" as development of Christian Theology School of "Duta Wacana" founded on 31 October 1962. The supporting Churches/Synods are:

  • GKJ (Javanese Christian Churches)
  • GKI Jateng (Indonesian Christian Churches of Central Java)
  • GKI Jatim (Indonesian Christian Churches of East Java)
  • GKI Jabar (Indonesian Christian Churches of West Java)
  • GKJW (East Java Christian Churches)
  • GITJ (Bible Churches of Javanese Land)
  • GKS (Sumbanese Christian Churches)
  • GKMI (Indonesian Muria Christian Churches)
  • GKP (Sundanese Christian Churches)
  • GKPB (Protestant Christian Churches of Bali)
  • GPGIB (Protestant Churches of West Indonesia)
  • GKSS (South Sumatera Christian Churches)


Questions prior to Entering DWCU

The starting point for someone in entering the real life is when he/she finishes his/her senior high school. Together with his/her parents, they start questioning the uncertainty of the future, not knowing what will happen then. The wrong step will make him/her lost, but the right one will lead him/her to the light of life. Senior Hight School graduates face a kind of mystery when they have to continue their study to the university. That is why it is better for them to question themselves from the very beginning. "Do I enter university just to follow the tradition?" or "Do I enter university because I want to be a mature human being?" All Senior High School Graduates have to answer those questions.
People often take for granted that studying at the university is a logical step after someone graduates from Senior High School. Therefore, they just go to the university after finishing their Senior High School without having any basic or revolutionary motive. We have to be apprehensive about it. In fact, University like Duta Wacana Christian University is very enthusiastic in educating the new generation of independent and trustworthy professionals who have strong and qualified personality as well as broad knowledge. They are also prepared to be skillful, mature and reliable.
