Background and release
Rema and Shallipopi wrote the song in 2024, drawing from personal experiences, after meeting at a Lagos music festival, in 2023.[2][3] The song was produced by producer X, with Rema as co-producer.[4] It was released on June 20, 2024, through Mavin Records and Jonzing World.[5]
