The current Collaboration of the fortnight is None.

This page is for discussion on what the Portal:Rugby Union Collaboration of the Fortnight should be. Anyone is free to contribute, but please don't nominate or support an option unless you are willing to help it improve if it is elected as the fortnight's collaboration. Only positive support votes will be counted, except in the case of a tie. Please also only vote for a collaboration if you are willing to take part.

Purpose

The ultimate purpose of the collaboration is to improve a rugby union-related article to featured article status. Preferably the articles should either be a key rugby topic (eg pages on the domestic competitions, World Cup winning teams, significant biographies) or alternatively close enough to featured article status already such that a collaboration is likely to bring it up to FA quality.

Selection criteria

A nomination can be selected once it has received four support votes. However it can only be made the collaboration once the current collaboration has been active for two weeks. If these criteria have been met then the following should be carried out:

  1. The link at Wikipedia:WikiProject Rugby union/Collaboration of the fortnight/current changed to that of the new collaboration.
  2. The {{RugbyUnionNomination}} template on the new collaborations page replaced with {{RugbyUnionFortnight}}.
  3. The {{RugbyUnionFortnight}} template removed from the old collaborations page, and "past-collaboration=startdate-enddate" added to the old collaborations' {{WikiProject Rugby union}} template.
  4. The nomination removed from the {{WPRU Announcements}} template.
  5. The nomination archived on this page.
  6. The Current collaboration section updated with a summary of the new featured article.

Current collaboration

Gareth Owen Edwards CBE (born 12 July 1947 in Pontardawe, Wales) is a former Welsh rugby union footballer who played Template:Scrum-half, considered by many to be the greatest player in the history of the game. He first played for Wales in 1967 at the age of 19. Between 1967 and 1978 Edwards won 53 caps for Wales, including 13 as captain. All his caps were won in succession; he never had a dip in form or an injury that would allow anybody else to take his place.

Collaboration started 24 September 2007.

  1. Although men's internationals, not matter how minor, are recorded in huge across the 'net, no complete listing of women's internationals is available anywhere. Women's International Rugby is the first attempt to compile such a list - but it is by no means complete. This gap in the games history and knowledge can and should be closed Johnlbirch 21:05, 24 June 2007 (UTC)[reply]
