Hi Harebag! Welcome! When I saw the article on the Pigeon Force Police Department, I thought it was a joke. It is real. I also started a new article on Larry Buendorf. He's a secret service agent that wrestled a presidential assassin to the ground. Any suggestions for improvement, let me know. As for your article, I suggest a little background. Additional suggestions for Pigeon Force PD: Who's the chief? Any major history? Big crime solved? Any controversy or major lawsuit against it? When was it established? Was the area patrolled by the county sheriff before then and then the city was established (if so when?). These are just tips. Otherwise, there is a risk that someone will petition for the article's deletion because there is a board for that (thus destroying your hard work). That's the reason that I wrote quite a bit about my new article first rather than just start out with a few sentences and add to it slowly. 1. Please sign your messages so people know who is writing them and can write back to you. You do this by clicking on the 4 squiggly lines about 3 inches below the box where you type.
2. There are people who search for things to delete. Don't ask me why.
3. To add references, type in the reference after your sentence. For example, type "Boston is the capital of Massachusetts." then after the period type a < then ref then > then http.so and so then < then / then ref then >. I can't do it here otherwise the computer will make my example into a footnote and you then wouldn't be able to see it. The at the bottom, type { then { then reflist then } then } so that the references will print up as a list.
Another way is just to pull up an article, push the "edit this page" and see how the computer source is written and copy it for your article.VK35 21:02, 6 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

In response to your comment here: I had originally marked the Pigeon Forge Police Department article for speedy deletion because I didn't think that it met notability requirements. The policy for speedy deletion templates is that they cannot be removed by the creator of the article (whether you agree or not). It is up to an admin to remove the template if they think that the article should not be deleted. I'm not putting the template back for now, but just keep the policy in mind for the future. See WP:SPEEDY. I suggest that you continue to improve the article to assert its notability so it doesn't end up deleted. In response to your question - When gathering information from another web site, you need to be careful to not violate the source's copyright, see WP:COPYVIO. The best thing to do is to paraphrase the content that you want to include and then reference the source see WP:REF. Never copy and paste information into an article. As far as using images, I am not an expert on the subject - check WP:IMAGE for info. Edits to Pigeon Forge Police Department

Yes, I edited the Pigeon Forge Police Department in an attempt to prevent it from being deleted. Editing is allowed for anyone. Still, I hope you don't mind. I didn't want your great idea to be deleted. I see that you edited out that the PD was notable for having a SWAT team despite the city's size. The reason I put that there is because it is a valid reason which makes the article notable. Notability is a key factor in preventing an article's deletion.VK35 21:37, 10 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fire Departments

I think it's unlikely that very many individual fire departments are going to be notable enough to be included as separate articles in Wikipedia. Also, list rarely serve much purpose on Wikipedia, other than the standard list of TV episodes and such that are common on Wikipedia. Please don't make baseless accusations against me. I haven't made any "trouble" for you. I initiated a conversation about an issue and have remained courteous throughout. What is it about every fire department that you think makes them notable enough to be in an encyclopedia? Are you going to be able to provide references for every fire department that backs up that notability? If not then I will not be the only one nominating them for deletion. Please see WP:Notability. I feel that you are rapidly crossing the boundary into making personal attacks and threats against me. At no point did I accuse you of making any trouble for me. I'm curious if you actually read the entire message before you decide to respond. The speedy deletion process is a two part process. I nominated the articles for deletion and an administrator reviewed those requests, agreed with them, and deleted them. Feel free to have the administrator you are in contact with to get in touch with me. All of our edits are in the history for anyone to read and I have been patient I will also not respond to threats. If I see an article that I believe needs to be deleted, I will mark it so. If you threaten me with administrative action again for no reason, I will report you. I will not be intimidated into not putting proper tags on articles. If your articles met the minimum standards then there would be no need for them to be tagged. Talk:Lee patton chiles

I have nominiated this page for speedy deletion because it is the talk page for an article that no longer exists. However, I saw your comments on the page and I wanted to touch base with you about something that you said. You commented: "I am a recent changes patroller and . . . " and continued with your statement as to why you felt the article should not be deleted. I am also a recent changes patroller and I wanted to let you know that it is a completely voluntary position and it carries no extra weight in discussions--it's just something that we can do to help out around Wikipedia. As such, it isn't really worth including when you're making statements--it would be like saying "I've got blue eyes and I think that . . . " If you feel that a Speedy Deletion isn't justified (and you are not the creator of the article), then you may remove the speedy deletion tag. It would also be helpful if you explained your justification on the talk page (or in your edit summary). These are things that any editor may do--it has nothing to do with being a recent changes patroller. However, just because you feel the creator of the article didn't completely understand policy is not a reason to refrain from deleting an article. Speedy deletion isn't a punishment--it is a way of quickly removing inappropriate articles. Please let me know if you have any questions. Regarding your response on my talk page: Whoa--I didn't mean to upset you. I was just trying to give you some information. Of course you may remove speedy deletion tags if you feel they are not justified--any editor (with the exception of the editor who created the article) may do so. However, please don't use time spent in creating the article as a reason for removing the tag--that doesn't have a basis in Wikipedia policy. Again, I'm sorry for upsetting you and I never implied that I was perfect. New pages patroller

In response to your message here. I think it's great that you want to be a new pages patroller. But you can't really expect to be able to remain anonymous. It's very easy for the creator of the article to see who put the delete tag on it. Also, it's only reasonable that the creator should know who thinks their article should be deleted. You have a right to be bold and do what you think is right, but you also need to be held accountable if someone disagrees with you. No reasonable editor is going to vandalize your articles. Your editcount

First, you should realize that editcountitis is not healthy. But to answer your question; what probably happened is some of the pages that you created got deleted. When that happens, all of your edits get deleted with them. Also, you may have checked your edit count on a day that you had tagged several articles for deletion. i hope i did take it out of context. i was only trying to get the adoptees and adopters active. we are sending out messages to the adopters shortly to get them into the AAU talk so that we can make some changes to how the program works, remove the backlog, and start teaching users! i'd more then happy to pass some adoptees to you. i just wish if you were looking for some users to adopt that you would have say "hello, i'm looking for some users to adopt". let me know how many you would like and we can get things started ! Hi, I'm currently working on a rewrite go the article on the now mainly defunct shipyard Kockums. I wonder, once attaching a "under construction" template how long do I have to complete the article, I expect this article to need a complete revamp as it's very out of date and factually incorrect.

Deleting content

You do know only sysops can delete content, right? Doing so only blanks the page if you don't have the proper tools. Just leave it be until you get them. But, keep working up that edit count! —B oL 05:15, 24 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Yeah, I already know that but there is no point in having useless crap on there like the article called ****ing doyle. He used about 6 f words and never censored them. Production_Issues

Please do not delete Production_Issues. Implemnetation_Issues, it's sister article, has been in-place for almost a year with no problems...except for the fact that it has a link back to Production_Issues which was speedily deleted last time.

Your post is most uncivil and a personal attack. Perhaps stubs annoy you, but they are perfectly valid. Try nominating any of them for deletion to find out. Your warning is both in appropriate and deserving of a counter-warning. I see that you are biting lots of people, so take the rest of the day off and cool down.
