Wiki rules

Can we keep discussion items on this page, and not in the article itself? Articles should not be interrupted by comments in brackets that belong on the discussion page. —Preceding unsigned comment added by MikeFlynn52 (talkcontribs) 19:28, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

--On a sidenote, this whole article needs significant clean-up. Both grammar and actual information is heavily lacking. While interesting, much of the information presented needs to be documented and tightened in terms of sentence structure and wording.

Sexuality

Lil Wayne sexuality has been questioned. He has been photographed kissing Birdman on the lips, and his explaination for this is that the Italian Mob did it as a greeting which is where he originally got the idea. Lil Wayne has also refrenced about the incident in his song "We Takin Over Remix" stating "Hell yea i kiss my daddy". Birdman explanation is that he loves his son and it's not a sexual matter. But on the other hand Lil Wayne's songs is constant with sexual content about women, constant singing about recieving fettalios as seen in "We Takin Over" also he is always talking about this one girl Aubrianna.:]and "Lollipop". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Wizzl537 (talkcontribs) 20:31, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Singles & Mixtapes

Why arent they on his page? Wiggl3sLimited 17:29, 11 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I believe there is a movement to remove mixtapes from Wikipedia. --WheezyF (talk) 18:58, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Also, there's no mention of Stuntin Like my daddy in the album section.

Can anybody put some info up on the subject of the song "Kiss me baby" it is all over youtube and when you search for the lyrics they all say lil wayne, but when you search for it in it his CDs mix tapes and all that, you can't find it, not even on the leak. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 71.146.146.34 (talk) 04:06, 29 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Biography

Please change the first sentence of the Biography section to the more detailed version below: weezy f. baby is officially declared " the best rapper alive"

!!

Carter was born to Jacida "China" Carter who at the time of his birth was 29, graduating from high school and involved in an abusive relationship with his biological father Dwayne Michael Turner who soon after abandoned the family. Jacinda later became involved with Reginald "Rabbit" McDonald who moved the family from Uptown Hollygrove to East New Orleans. It was around the time of the move that Carter began to get deeper involved in rap music, signing with Cash Money at the age of 11. A year after his move to East New Orleans Carter accidentally shot himself in the chest with McDonalds but he was okay.44 Taurus Magnum, he would subsequently by on life support for two weeks. A year later Jacinda would demand Carter stay away from, having gone to school with his older brother Ronald "Slim" Williams, both founders of Cash Money. The separation would only last a year as Carter returned to Cash Money after the death of Reginald Carter on March 7, 1997. As Carter recalls he was 14 when his mother forced him to drop out of 10th grade after seeing him put a pistol into his backpack before leaving for school, she made a call and returned back telling him he no longer had to attend school and to call Baby.[1]

It was around this time Carter recalls Baby and Slim becoming father figures in his life, he soon after began touring with Cash Money. Two years later Carter would become a father as Antonia "Toya" gave birth to his daughter Reginae Carter.Lil Wayne was also featured in an episode of boondocks "Invasion of the Katrinians"Newmoneymad (talk) 00:54, 10 December 2007 (UTC)newmoneymadNewmoneymad (talk) 00:51, 10 December 2007 (UTC)newmoneymad [2][reply]

Where is the mention of his kids

Wayne has one child. The other 3 that came up with him on the BET awards was Birdmans children

lil waynes feud with jay z and 50 cent

should we put a headline though its not techneccially a feud but their is some tensions definatly developing from the bet awards to interviews on mtv with 50 cent and jay zhenry 03:56, 30 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Get rid of feuds section

This seems terribly POV and makes for an unbalanced read. The information seems like it's usable but please integrate it into the regular narrative rather than having a seperate feuds section. Benjiboi 13:24, 4 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I have been in contact with the Hip hop Wikiproject to find out if this can be removed. I do not like it either. --WheezyF 15:44, 5 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Both 50 n weezy have discovered a new young hip hop artists Trez dot Kid and Zink Money. Trez is only 17 but his homeboy know him as the best rapper alive. whereas Zink money is known as his number 2 —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hahahaha12221u90-u90342 (talkcontribs) 13:53, 26 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I'm in favor of putting feuds back into the article, as numerous other hip-hop articles have a section like this, we can presume it is appropriate to put it in. Someone should add information about feuds with Clipse and Jay-Z.

I think Wiki should put feuds back on because it is information about lil wayne and lil wayne is apart of hip hop and beef is apart of hip hop and wik gave information out in all formsDatBitch (talk) 12:56, 10 April 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Rumors

I removed the item from the "Rumors" section for two reasons. The first is the article was in the December 2007 issue of Vibe, not 2008. The second is Lil Wayne has stated in a follow up interview on the Vibe website, and in the same article that himself and "Superhead" are just friends. --WeezyF (talk) 18:58, 21 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Lil Wayne Career in 2007

it was told that lil waynes biggest fan is a kid named TERRY ROMEL YOUNG lil wayne then went to his house and gave him 1 million dollars. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Try93 (talkcontribs) 20:46, 7 April 2008 (UTC) It saddens me that there is no mention of Lil' Wayne becoming extremely popular in 2007 because of DA Drought 3 albulm. Being called The Hottest Rapper, getting awards for Men of the Year, and having more features then any other artist should have a mention. There should also be atleast a mention on the extreme amount of music he released in 2006/2007 on mixtapes, since that is a reason that he is so popular. The page right now, is pretty weak compared to his status right now. (Sorry about my english, not native, but the message should be clear)[reply]

I was just up at the Hickory Ridge Mall in Memphis TN and spoke to a couple of Police Officers who were there ( I honestly have no idea who Lil' Wayne is or what he sings about, but I just did some research and found this and wanted to add that apparently he's preforming in Memphis TN at the Hickory Ridge Mall tonight. Thats what I was told by the Officers. I figured this was the right place to put this information given it's relivant to his career in 2007. --75.64.87.152 (talk) 02:19, 15 December 2007 (UTC)Jade--75.64.87.152 (talk) 02:19, 15 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well since your not a native you gotta know one thing about americans, we tend to jump on the bandwagon, usually late. We did the same thing with bush and look what happened, haha. Why Was The Article Shortened?/Needs More Info

Why was the article shortened? can we get some of that info retrieved again? Its missing things that he was doing during the time of each album release and his history with Baby and Cash Money and what he did in 2007... —Preceding unsigned comment added by Soulja nyn3 (talkcontribs) 00:05, 21 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Some Blood/Crip questions

I don't get it. Both Lil Wayne and Birdman falseclaim Bloods, but in earlier videos they wore blue bandanas and didn't yell SUH WOOP all the time....were they ever Crips? If so, how did they switch without getting shot? Seriously.... Another thing making me think Weezy isn't a Blood at all is he had a song called Bandana on the Right SIde, but in one of his videos (don't know the name, sorry) he is clearly wearing it on the LEFT! By the way I am a raging homosexual and don't know shit about rap lil wayne or gangs.

I believe it is because they only started to claim blood after Mac10 joined/left cash money.

Lil Wayne is affiliated (regardless of to what extent) with the the gay pride movement, yet it isn't mentioned anywhere in the biography, why is this? (furthermore there are multiple songs where he references to bloods, for example in "Da Drought 3" track "I'm blooded", and I quote: "Let us in the door, comin in this bitch all red to the floor And I'm blooded soowoo and I'm blooded soowoo I got bloods on stage bloods at my shows Fuck with my bloods got blood on your cloths" ... shooting himself

yeah he did shoot himself in the chest actually. i think he was on life support for 2 weeks. 72.27.140.121 (talk) 00:22, 21 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

then put it in the article. Getting shot, especially shooting yourself is an important event.Drumac (talk) 01:24, 25 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Is it possible to prevent people without accounts from commenting in this page?

It's full of stupid comments talking about how Lil Wayne is "the greatest rapper ever". Also IIRC, this page is for discussion about the page, not comments about how "great" Lil Wayne is.

Is it possible to add a protection to this page? 68.8.104.62 (talk) 05:31, 26 February 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It's probably an idea for folks who are watching this page to remove the chatty comments and general insults (like the one that erased the above comment and replaced it with editorializing). I'll keep it in mind. Tony Fox (arf!) 23:11, 4 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do Not Add Mixtapes Not Sponsored by Lil Wayne

Mixtapes such as "The Drought is Over" series was not done by Lil Wayne, but DJs who recieved leaked material. Only add sponsored mixtapes, such as "Da Drought" Series or the "Dedication".

uhm drought is over is lil wayne, it is his voice and he's the once who produced the music. so shut the fuck up, smoke some weed and listen to weezy at the same time.

There is a very small number of Wayne sponsered mixtapes. The Drought is Over series was made from leaked music by The Empire. Though they are poular, and I own all of them they should not be mentioned as official Lil Wayne mixtapes, because he didn't sponsor them.

NO DEDICATION III

There is not gonna be a Dedication 3.Wayne talked about this on "The Come Up 17: Wayne's World" DVD. He states that he was gonna start workon it, but other things came up. I wouldn't know how to cite this, but that should end the talk of another Dedication Mixtape. that means he aint workin on it, but that doesnt mean there isnt ever gnna b a dedicatio 3. you kno wuh im sayin? —Preceding unsigned comment added by DaWISEone (talkcontribs) 13:18, 24 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Lead section

The lead section of the article should be a summary of the topic. There is no need to list every album/mix tape etc. that he has released.

The lead should probably be trimmed down to say that he was signed as a teenager, recorded 3 albams as part of the boy rap group. He went solo in ____ year, has released X albums, numerous mixtapes and contributed to many projects by other artists. And probably mention the MTV award. The specific name and year of each release is covered in depth later and not needed in the lead section. TheRedPenOfDoom (talk) 02:08, 30 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
