FNMTV (officially Feedback New MTV; informally Friday Night MTV) is a music video program on MTV focused on premiering new music videos and airing viewers' instantaneous feedback from its website.[1] It is an attempt to bring back music video programming on MTV. F N is branded to stand for "Friday Night" to signify when the premiere block airs. It's also a play on the term "F'in'," an alternative to the words "Fuckin' MTV".
The Friday night premiere block, FNMTV Premieres, is hosted by Pete Wentz and airs in encore for the remainder of the week.[2] Music video blocks with viewer feedback and artist commentary air weekdays 8 to 11:00 AM ET/PT and Tuesday through Friday at 4:00 PM - 5:00 PM ET/PT on MTV.
MTV confirmed that a new season will air December 5, 2008 following the ending of TRL. Some see the show as a sucessor to or replacement for the obsolete TRL.
FNMTV Premieres
The Friday night block features Wentz hosting and chatting with artists. The artists premiere their videos and the show features two live performances. Tim Kash and MTV News reporter James Montgomery and a celebrity guest provide commentary.
The show also reruns throughout the week on MTV2, MTV Hits, MTVu and Palladia.
The show also airs on the following international MTV channels:
- VH1, MTV HITS and MTV ONE in the United Kingdom. It's shown Sundays on MTV ONE & Fridays on MTV HITS & VH1; they have no encore shows and only show FNMTV Premieres.
- Additionally, as of August 1, 2008, the program is broadcast in Canada on MTV2 at 11p.m. ET, and airs in encore throughout the week.
- Friday nights on MTV New Zealand
