As

As a McArdle's Disease patient myself, I would encourage all those diagnosed to contact a support group and exchange experiences with other patients. In the US: www.agsdus.org, in the UK: www.agsd.org.uk. It is very beneficial to find a doctor who really knows about this disease and can give the best advice about lifestyle, diet and exercise. I would like to point out that both McArdle's GSD and Von Gierke's GSD (types V and I, respectively) are listed on Wikipedia as being the "most common glycogen storage disorders". I will attempt to update the pages once I have found out which, in fact, is the most common GSD. P. Worth, Brown University's Alpert Medical School.
