Petru Popescu

Romanian-American (born. February 1, 1944 in Bucharest, Romania) writter, director and movie producer. Author of best-seller novel "Almost Adam".

He finished "Spiru Haret" high-school, then entered university as literature student, graduating in 1967. His debut was poetry book "Zeu printre blocuri" (A god between apartment buildings) then in 1969 "Prins" (Caught), a novel of grand succes who launched him as a refference writter in Romanian literature. Furthermore he obtained a scholarship in Vienna (1971-1972) and in 1974 he accepts an invitation from the University of Iowa to participate at International Writing Program seminary, moment in which he decided to leave Romania and establish in United States. From then on steadily he followed a succesful path as a novelist and author of few Hollywood movie scrypts.
