Scott Pilgrim vs. the World is an upcoming film based on the comic book series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley. The film is directed by Edgar Wright and stars Michael Cera and Mary Elizabeth Winstead.

Premise

Scott Pilgrim (Cera) is a young slacker who falls in love with Ramona Flowers (Winstead), but to win her over, he must defeat her seven evil exes.[1]

Production

Universal Pictures contracted Edgar Wright to direct a film adaptation of Scott Pilgrim's Precious Little Life, the first part of comic book series Scott Pilgrim by Bryan Lee O'Malley. In May 2005, the studio signed Michael Bacall to write the screenplay for the adaptation.[2] By January 2009, filmmakers rounded out its cast for the film, now titled Scott Pilgrim vs. the World.[1]

Filming began in March, 2009 in Toronto, Canada.[3][4] Rolling Stone confirmed that music from Canadian indie rock band Metric will be part of the film's soundtrack.[5]
