John Hathaway is an English mixed martial arts fighter. He competes in the Welterweight division. He made his UFC debut by defeating Tom Egan at UFC 93.

Biography

Formerly an open-side flanker for local rugby team Hove RFC, Hathaway decided to make the transitition to mixed martial arts after watching the Ultimate Fighting championship on television. He made his professional MMA debut on the 25th June 2006 defeating his opponent via rear naked choke in the first round.

John Hathaway currently trains at ZT Fight Skool in Brighton, England and London Shootfighters.[1] Having also trained in the US with American Top Team and Tenth Planet Jiu Jitsu.[2]

After signing a four fight deal, Hathaway was scheduled to fight undefeated Tom Egan at UFC 93 Franklin vs Henderson.[3] He made an impressive UFC debut, scoring a dominant TKO win over Egan via elbows,[4] expanding his record to a perfect 10-0-0.

Hathaway is scheduled to fight Rick Story at UFC 99 in Cologne, Germany.[5]
