The Small Gods question

I removed the following section on account that it is unsourced, trivia, and poorly-written. In addition, the previous section already mentions Small Gods. I see no reason to go on to give it an entire section which does not bring any new information. -- Ritchy 23:48, 7 December 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thief of Time in fact gives an answer to when Small Gods happened. Late in the book, during the proceedings of the Apocalypse, an angel, foretold to appear in the Book of Tobrun in the Book of Om, appears and keeps insisting to know if this is the Apocalypse until Death tells him he's not a formal part of the proceedings now;

THE BOOK OF TOBRUN HAS NOT BEEN CONSIDERED OFFICIAL CHURCH DOGMA FOR A HUNDRED YEARS. THE PROPHET BRUTHA REVEALED THAT THE WHOLE CHAPTER WAS A METAPHOR FOR A POWER STRUGGLE WITHIN THE EARLY CHURCH. IT IS NOT INCLUDED IN THE REVISED EDITION OF THE BOOK OF OM, AS DETERMINED BY THE CONVOCATION OF EE. --Death.

Ummm...

Yeah. The synopsis sucks, and is missing a spoiler tag. A few of the other Discworld novel articles include the origin of the title, so I would like to see it mentioned that the title of this book is based on something Martin Luther King Jr said during a speech: "Procrastination is still the thief of time". Thus the title references the Procrastinators in the book.

Dr. King was quoting the poem by Edward Young, an English poet (1683 - 1765), which was the source of the title. --Orange Mike 13:57, 26 September 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Beheading yetis

Would it be possible to have some comment in the article about the beheading of the yetis? As far as I can tell, it appears to be the equivalent of doing a save in the middle of a computer game. Either that, or it is a reference to that Tintin novel (Blue Lotus?) where that chap went around trying to cut people's heads off so that they may find the truth. However, I cannot find anything to back it up. If it isn't possible to add it to the article, could someone at least explain it here, or failing that, point me in the right directgion as to where best ask this question (I appreciate that this is running dangerously close to being completely off topic) StephenBuxton 14:33, 3 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Inspiration for Lu-Tze?=

Just a theory that popped into my head but is it possible Lu-Tze is based on Hong Kong Phooey (not sure of spelling), the janitor in the police station who became a crime fighting martial artist when trouble came along?

Wouldn't be the first time Pratchett had based something on his books on other items in popular culture - for example the similarities between Uberwald and the Underworld movies. Danikat (talk) 16:53, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
