Gaelic
Hiya, good to see someone else take an interest in Gaelic related topics! A few suggestions, if I may? Place names, especially south of the central belt often arouse strong feelings so if you want to stave off some of that, always add them with a bona fide ref, best if it's Iain Mac an Tàilleir as he does place names for the government. Check out the lists he did for the Parliament on [[1]], it's a good source.
Also, the current convention on good formatting for Gaelic place names is to use the following [English] ({{lang-gd|Gàidhlig}}), which results in (Scottish Gaelic: Gàidhlig). Akerbeltz (talk) 22:29, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
Hi and thanks for the link. Ive been reading about some Gaelic place names from the early church in Northumbria (such as Lindesfarne!) Apparently one king of Northumbria wrote Gaelic poetry so whether edinburgh and Berwick were Northumbrian or not shouldnt mean they cant have Gaelic names ;p)
im trying to learn Gaelic but having it on Freeview would help 9hence why I dont appreciate the mindset of michael fry going unquestioned on the article about the channel. In fact if it was up to me, id allow anyone to acces gaelic tv from scotland, but they insist here on blocking foreign access. for instance, you cant get Welsh tv outside of Wales, even if youre in england and want to learn. Its narrowminded. 92.235.167.172 (talk) 22:45, 1 December 2009 (UTC)
