Waka Flocka Flame

Juaquin Malphurs (born May 31, 1986)[1] better known by his stage name Waka Flocka Flame, is an American rapper signed to So Icey Entertainment.

Biography

Juaquin was born in Brooklyn, New York, [2] During his childhood, he was influenced by the streets. Waka Flocka Flame looked up to drug dealers as role models.[2] According to Julia Beverly of Ozone magazine, he is the son of Debra Antney, Nicki Minaj and Gucci Mane's manager and CEO of the management company Mizay Entertainment.[3] Waka Flocka is signed to the So Icey Entertainment record label. In December 2009 his single "O Let's Do It" charted at #41 on the Billboard Hip Hop/R&B chart, and #24 on their Rap Songs chart.[4]

The name "Waka Flocka" was given to him by rapper Gucci Mane,[citation needed] as a reference to the onomatopoeiaic sound of a gun being cocked.

Waka Flocka Flame is a member of the Brick Squad, with Gucci Mane, OJ Da Juiceman, Frenchie, and Wooh Da Kid.[5] He is currently preparing his debut album, set to be released some time in 2010, as well as mixtapes with the Brick Squad, and with Atlanta rap trio Travis Porter. Oj Da JUice Man
