Claudio Sanchez

Claudio Paul Sanchez (born March 12, 1978 in Suffern, New York, United States)[1][2] is an American writer and musician best known for being the lead singer and guitarist for the alternative/progressive rock group Coheed and Cambria. He is also the creator of the comic book series, The Amory Wars and Kill Audio , and author of the novel Year of the Black Rainbow, which he co-authored along with Peter David.

The first band Sanchez ever performed in was Dark Ecstasy, and the second was Toxic Parents. One month later, Toxic Parents was put to an end, as they decided to create their third group, Jumbo Head.[citation needed]

Sanchez has a side project called The Prize Fighter Inferno. It is a concept band. Told through Jesse, a boxer known as the Prize Fighter Inferno, it is the story of The Blood Machine, a vicious contraption that murders its victims and takes their souls. The band itself has a blend of acoustic guitar and electronica.

Claudio Sanchez was the lead singer of the band Beautiful Loser. This band broke up over a fight about gas money.[citation needed] Claudio went to Paris where he had the idea for The Amory Wars, the comic book that Coheed and Cambria is based upon.

Claudio was the lead singer of the band Shabutie, which formed in Nyack, New York, United States in 1995, but changed the name to Coheed and Cambria in 2001.

Claudio is featured on the cover of Weezer's new album, Hurley.
