Santos Basin
Appearance
The Santos Basin is an 352,260 square kilometres (136,010 sq mi) offshore [pre-salt basin[pre-salt layer]]. It is located in the south Atlantic ocean, some 300 kilometres (190 mi) south east of São Paulo, Brazil. One of the largest Brazilian sedimentary basins, it is the site of several recent (2007-08) significant oil fields, including Tupi and Jupiter.
