Plot Overview

Twilight, who was originally from Canterlot, was tasked by Princess Celestia in the first episode of Friendship is Magic to oversee preparations of the Summer Sun Celebration in Ponyville.[3] She later makes friends with some of the ponies in Ponyville, and later goes on to defeat Nightmare Moon, a corrupted version of Celestia's sister, Luna. During this, she discovers that she represents one of the Elements of Harmony, magic.

After Nightmare Moon's defeat, Princess Celestia assigns Twilight to Ponyville and asks her to write what she has learned about friendship on a weekly basis.

Traits and Personality

Twilight is extremely gifted with magic, even more so than most other unicorns. For example, in the episode "Lesson Zero", Twilight bewitches a doll to attract a small group of younger ponies so that they might fight over it, but the doll ends up attracting everyone in the town, with Twilight being unable to control the effects of her magic.[4] Also multiple times throughout the series she is shown as capable of teleportation of herself and others, even while under great duress.
