Laurie Halse Anderson

Laurie Halse Anderson (born Oct. 23, 1961) writes for children and young adults. She is best known for her Young Adult novel Speak which won a number of awards, and has been adapted for the screen.

She is a graduate of Onondaga Community College and Georgetown University.
