Wikipedia:Administrator intervention against vandalism

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

This is an old revision of this page, as edited by Wakwakwiki (talk | contribs) at 03:18, 6 May 2012 (→‎User-reported). The present address (URL) is a permanent link to this revision, which may differ significantly from the current revision.

Report active, obvious, and persistent vandals and spammers here.

Before reporting, read the spam and vandalism pages, as well as the AIV guide. To submit, edit this page and follow the instructions at the top of the "User-reported" section. For other issues, file a request for administrator attention.

    Important!
    1. The edits of the user must be obvious vandalism or obvious spam.
    2. Except for egregious cases, the user must have been given enough warning(s).
    3. The warning(s) must have been given recently and there must be reasonable grounds to believe the user(s) will further disrupt the site in the immediate future.
    4. If you decide that a report should be filed place the following template at the bottom of the User-reported section:
      • * {{Vandal|Example user or IP}} Your concise reason (e.g. vandalised past 4th warning). ~~~~
    5. Requests for further sanctions against a blocked user (e.g., talk page, e-mail blocks) should be made at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents.
    6. Reports of sockpuppetry should be made at Wikipedia:Sockpuppet investigations unless the connection between the accounts is obvious and disruption is recent and ongoing.
This noticeboard can grow and become backlogged. Stale reports are automatically cleared by MDanielsBot after 4–8 hours with no action.

Warned user. Deleted the spam. User had no warnings. If it is a spammer, I doubt they will be back. If they do, one spam edit is all it takes and they are blocked. -- Alexf(talk) 23:22, 5 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
    • Historyfeelings (talk · contribs · deleted contribs · nuke contribs · logs · filter log · block user · block log) This user keep replacing every word "Souf" with the word "Sakib" with no justification or reason. He/she just do that in all the relevant pages (Jerash, Jordan, and "جرش" in Arabic). He/she sames engaging in editing war with other authors. I tried to revert the changes he made on the information I have added across the last 6-8 years. I advice him to contribute with authentic information instead of vandalizing. could you please stop him, as I do not want to engage in an editing war. I have talked with user Historyfeelings three times or more and he/she seems not understanding the rules. He keeps Just replacing every "Souf" in all articles with "Sakib". He made counter claims and he tied to act as an administrator. I told him/her that the claims can be simply verified by looking at the history of the articles he is trying to vandalize. So I am referring the issue to the administration.Wakwakwiki (talk) 01:27, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I just tracked the user Historyfeelings Vandalism..... on article "Jerash" You vandalism started on 04:30, 24 February 2012‎. In this change you added Sakib and then started simply replacing "Souf" with "Sakeb" just for the intention of vandalism. on article "Jordan" You vandalism started on 00:48, 10 April 2012‎. In this change you just replaced the photo for the olive farms in "Souf" with a photo for the mountains of Sakib, which is in fact for the purpose of vandalism as the picture was listed in irrelevant section as the mountain has no farming. This was just for the intention of vandalism. Wakwakwiki (talk) 03:18, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

IP continues to add unsourced information after multiple reverts by several editors. Cresix (talk) 02:17, 6 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
