Sorry, so what are you going to do? DIano (talk) 19:43, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]
These are quite complex flags and will take some time. But I'll give them a shot. ›mysid () 19:54, 15 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Proposal to shut down WP Geographic Coordinates & ban coordinates on wikipedia articles

This means you. --Tagishsimon (talk) 12:07, 17 January 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Your wikipedia file Sodium carbonate.png

It's missing the central carbon. I'll change it myself if I had better wikediting skills... Tnx in advnx.

The skeletal formula has an implicit carbon atom in its center. ›mysid () 17:02, 21 February 2012 (UTC)[reply]

File:Caldor logo.png listed for deletion

A file that you uploaded or altered, File:Caldor logo.png, has been listed at Wikipedia:Files for deletion. Please see the discussion to see why this is (you may have to search for the title of the image to find its entry), if you are interested in it not being deleted. Thank you. Proj4 Parameters for Finnish Map

Hi, I notices that you have made this really cool map of Finland. Could you please provide Proj4 parameters to map lonlat coordinates to lcc projection (witch I assume is used in this map). http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Map_of_Finland-fi.svg

Thank you! Troyhy (talk) 18:30, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I'm glad you like the map! The standard parallels I used were at latitudes 47°N and 62°N and the central latitude was most probably halfway between. IIRC the central longitude was 24°E. Thus, +proj=lcc +lat_1=47 +lat_2=62 +lat_0=54.5 +lon_0=24. ›mysid () 21:07, 19 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
For me this has been cash course to Proj4 and maping. I try to plot events on top of your map, but I don't really understand lcc or proj4 :)
my goal is to print from lat/lon to x/y on this map. closest that I can get with this is:
p_from = Proj("+proj=longlat +ellps=WGS84 +datum=WGS84 +no_defs")
p_to = Proj("+proj=lcc +lat_1=70.2 +lat_0=59.35 +lon_0=24 +x_0=327132.789 +y_0=0 +datum=WGS84 +units=m +no_defs")::
x,y = transform(p_from,p_to,24,64)
mapx,mapy = x/630.02, y/ 636.78
Where mapx and mapy are +-10px from real position in your map. I tried to use parameters that you gave, but error was increasing. Am I completelly abusing Proj4 or on the right trac? Troyhy (talk) 15:26, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I would skip Proj4 and use these equations instead (in Perl, but hopefully will translate into your language of choice):
$r = -71.7725 * $lat + 6797.91;
$a = 0.8183 * ($lon - 24);

$x = ($r * sin(deg2rad($a))) / 548.1 + 0.3764;
$y = ($r * cos(deg2rad($a))) / 805.6 - 2.1482;
(deg2rad converts degrees into radians) Now just multiply $x and $y by the pixel width and height of the map image you're using, and there you have it. ›mysid () 19:53, 24 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

sam-taeguk.svg

Great work. I want to incorporate the image into a logo for a new company I'm starting. You stated the image was open to the public domain and I appreciate that! Are you Ok with it being used as a company logo? I noticed it is an .svg file. How do I convert it to other file formats so graphics/print shops can use it? ------ — Preceding unsigned comment added by C2m4 (talkcontribs) 16:15, 25 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You're free to use the image. Just open it in Inkscape, Illustrator or similar software and save as PDF. ›mysid () 16:55, 28 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Why did you delete the page of Crisis (musician)

Messaging you to say that you had no right to delete the page Crisis (musician) as it is significant and the article was important. — Preceding unsigned comment added by MusicMadeBetter (talkcontribs) 16:29, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Well, to be honest, there was no indication of importance whatsoever. ›mysid () 16:40, 2 April 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Map of Paris fortress

Hello! Do you remember me? Some time ago I asked you to draw map of the Buru Island, Bangladesh andsome islands near India. Now I have another problem. User Zoe from the Russian Wikipedia is working on the article Siege of Paris (1429) and a map of the medieval Paris fortress is needed for it. But an available map isn't in public domain, so it should be redrawn. Would you be so kind to draw this map in SVG? And what to do: to draw all the outlines and to write the titles, but not to write the titles. Thank you!--212.79.116.24 (talk) 11:57, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! It looks very interesting, I'll start working on it. What did you mean I should do with the titles? ›mysid () 14:06, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your agreement! Well, we need only the titles which begin with the word 'Porte' or 'Tour'. The other ones are useless. Sorry, my English isn't as good as I would like :-).--212.79.116.24 (talk) 14:44, 11 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Excuse me, but what's about the map :-)?95.109.230.86 (talk) 19:44, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Yeah, I forgot about it due to real-life burnout. Does this castle have a name? ›mysid () 20:16, 29 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
In fact, this is not a castle but the whole city of Paris.95.109.130.250 (talk) 06:28, 30 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Here you go. Comments are welcome.
 ›mysid () 10:52, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you a lot! In my opinion, this map is a great one. But I invited the author of the article, and we'll see what she'll say.95.109.243.152 (talk) 16:53, 10 June 2012 (UTC)[reply]
