Player Profile

Marcus Tudgay was born in Shoreham, Sussex. He came through the ranks at Derby County F.C. and made his senior debut in August 2002. His first Rams goal came against his current club Sheffield Wednesday F.C. at Hillsborough in November 2005. In all he made 99 appearances for the Rams, starting on 59 occasions and scoring 18 goals.

Marcus joined the Owls from Derby County for an undisclosed fee in January 2006, penning a contract to keep him at Hillsborough until 2010. He had initially signed on loan with the club but manager Paul Sturrock decided to make his move permanent after he claimed a debut goal in a 3-0 win over Crewe Alexandra.

The manager's faith in him was justified as Tudgay scored vital goals in Sheffield Wednesday's succesful attempt to avoid relegation from The Championship.
