Cinema Company is a 2012 Malayalam romantic comedy drama film written and directed by Mamas and starring mainly newcomers. Basil, Sanjeev, Shruthi and Badri play the roles of four intimate friends who dream to make a film.
Plot
Paul Cheriyan was ready to go to his office for work when suddenly he saw many people going to the building in which he lives. He asks about it to a watchman who says that a boy has died due to an accident. He and his friends were together. Their mournings are cursing themselves. Paul went there and came back to his apartment thinking about where his friends might be now.
He took a photograph in which he and his friends were included. He thinks about them. First Parvathy or Paru who carries a uke lela with her always. She sings jingles for radios. Then he thought about Varghese Panicker. A rich friend of his. Wants to become a director and always carries a scetch pad and a camera. His next thought was about Fazal or Ikka. A writer. His many books have got many awards. He has a love with Roshini a rich girl. Paul then thinks about him. He wanted to become an actor. He is also called Pollachan. The four friends as they strive to give life to their dream cinema. And how their lives are upturned as the cinema becomes their life.
He returns to Kochi which was the place where their dreams were born and died. He finds all his friends and they again makes the cinema which was a wonderful hit.
Thus the film proves that friendship can cause world histories.
