Russian Anti-Soviet partisans

Russian Anti-Soviet partisans refer to a group of predominantly Soviet forces employed by Nazi Germany during World War II. Unlike the Russian Liberation Army, which was intended for frontline deployment, the partisans were meant to operate behind enemy lines.

The original goals envisioned coordination and aid to existing anti-Soviet and anti-communist resistance groups, leading to the creation of a large partisan force behind the Soviet lines. The most successful goal of the project was the creation of a new intelligence network.

Teams were primarily recruited from prisoner-of-war camps. Some men were recruited by the Abwehr, others by the Ausland-SD of the Reichssicherheitshauptamt (Reich Security Head Office) (the competition between various similar projects would prove one of their main weaknesses).
