American Idol

Overview

Glover auditioned in Charlotte, North Carolina.[5] She previously auditioned in seasons 9, 10, and 11. She was cut during the final 70 round during season 9. She was eliminated by producers during season 10. In season 11, she made it to the Las Vegas rounds and was grouped with that season's finalists DeAndre Brackensick and eventual season 11 runner-up Jessica Sanchez, where she was eliminated at the top 40 Las Vegas week.

During her audition in Season 12, she sang "Syrup & Honey" by Duffy where she received a standing ovation. Judge Randy Jackson noted that she was the best performer by far in the competition. Season 11 finalist Joshua Ledet was mentioned during Glover's audition for season 12. In the semi-finals of the twelfth season, Glover performed "Ordinary People" by John Legend. On March 7, 2013, Glover was voted into the Top 10.[1] Her Top 10 performance of "I (Who Have Nothing)" by Ben E. King earned her enough votes to land in the night’s top three contestants, along with Kree Harrison and Angie Miller.[6] After her Top 6 performances, Glover earned enough votes to land in the night's top two contestants, along with Kree Harrison. She covered "Lovesong" by The Cure and broke down in tears after receiving a roaring standing ovation. Jackson commented that it was not only one of the best American Idol performances in its history, but very well may be the one of the best performances ever on any talent show. For the very first time, after her Top 4 performance, she landed in the bottom two.
