Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi (Hindi: फ़ियर फ़ैक्टर: खतरों के खिलाड़ी) is an Indian stunt/dare reality game show based on the American Fear Factor. It was originally created by Endemol and the first episode aired on 21 July 2008 on Colors. The first series Fear Factor India was aired on Sony TV and was a big success.
History
The series was first launched as Fear Factor India on Sony TV in 2006 where it received a great response from the viewers; however, the channel discontinued the series after one season. The channel gave up its rights to Colors and the series was relaunched as Fear Factor: Khatron Ke Khiladi on 21 July 2008.[1]
Host
Each season of the show has been hosted by popular Bollywood stars. The first two seasons were hosted by popular comic as well as action hero, Akshay Kumar.[2] He was replaced by former Miss World and the acting diva Priyanka Chopra in the third season due to scheduling conflicts. However, Akshay Kumar has been roped in again for the fourth season.[3] For season 5, Rohit Shetty would replace Akshay Kumar as his wife Twinkle's delivery is due around the same time.[4][5]
