The Politecnico di Studi Aziendali (Polytechnic University of Business Studies), sometimes referred to as Politecnico di Lugano (Polytechnic University of Lugano), is an unaccredited[1][2] distance learning, proprietary, for-profit university located in Agno, Ticino, Switzerland.
The institution has no campus and issues degrees based on "life experiences." Candidates for a degree are usually required to discuss a project. The school issues Bachelors,[3] Masters,[4] and even PhDs.[5] Despite being based in Switzerland, the school has Italian landlines and the personnel only speak Italian because the degrees are offered mostly to Italians, although in Italy the same kind of unaccredited university would be illegal. However, according to the laws of Ticino, accreditation is not mandatory and an unaccredited school can operate by virtue of the Swiss economic freedom. In this case, the degrees are not recognized by the Swiss government.
