Note
  1. ^ Certain award groups do not simply award one winner. They recognize several different recipients, have runners-up, and have third place. Since this is a specific recognition and is different from losing an award, runner-up mentions are considered wins in this award tally. For simplification and to avoid errors, each award in this list has been presumed to have had a prior nomination.

Ariana Grande is an American recording artist and actress. Grande made her acting debut in 2008, playing the role of Charlotte in 13 on Broadway. From 2010 to 2013, she played Cat Valentine on the Nickelodeon sitcom Victorious and reprised the role on the spinoff Sam & Cat (2013–14).[1]

In March 2013, Grande reached mainstream success after "The Way" from her debut studio album, Yours Truly (2013), became a top ten hit on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified double platinum by the RIAA.[2][3][4] The album received critical acclaim and debuted at number one on the Billboard 200. This made Grande the first female artist to have her debut record enter the chart in the pole position since Animal by Kesha in January 2010, and the fifteenth female artist overall.[5][6] Later, Grande was honored by The Music Business Association in 2014 as Breakthrough Artist of the Year, to recognize Grande's achievements over 2013.[7]

In 2013, Ariana received eleven nominations and won four for herself, including New Artist of The Year at the American Music Awards, Best Newcomer at the Billboard Mid-Year Music Awards, Best International New Artist at the Capricho Awards, and Best New Artist 2013 at the Music Choice Awards.

In 2014, Ariana received twenty-four nominations and won four for herself, including Young Influencer at the iHeartRadio Music Awards, Favorite TV Actress at the Kids' Choice Awards, Favorite Breakout Artist at the 40th People's Choice Awards, and Chart Topper at the Radio Disney Music Awards. At the 31st annual MTV Video Music Awards, 2014, Grande won the award of Best Pop Video, along with three nominations—Best Female Video, Best Collaboration, and Best Lyric Video for the music video of her single "Problem". Overall, she has won 22 awards from 45 nominations.
