MonsterMMORPG is a free-to-play browser-based indie massively multiplayer online role-playing game published in 2011. The game is available on Facebook, Google Play and as a standalone web site.
History
Furkan Gözükara initially began MonsterMMORPG as part of his computer engineering program in 2009. Gözükara published the game himself in 2011 and has continued development since then.[1][2]
Gameplay
The concept and gameplay of MonsterMMORPG have been compared to Pokémon. Players control a team of monsters, which they can use to battle other wild monsters, typically to weaken and capture them.[3][4] There are more than 2,000 monsters to collect, with a maximum of 6 monsters per team. Additional monsters are automatically added to the player's storage.[5][6] The game boasts hundreds of maps and monster battle moves, as well as buildings which players can use to heal their monsters or buy and sell monsters and items.[7][8] There is also a player versus player mode and results are displayed publicly.[5]
Reception
MonsterMMORPG has received both positive and negative reviews since it has been released. Baixaki praised the simple controls but criticized the gameplay and interface.[9] Game4V said the game does well by focusing on content and player interaction.[5]
