Introduction
Tulsi R. Tanti, [2] a name synonymous with Wind Energy, stands committed to champion the cause of sustainable and affordable energy for all. He is a world-renowned alternate energy expert and a visionary who is passionate about the cause of renewable energy. [3] Tanti currently is the Chairman of Suzlon Group and has led the company over the last two decades. [4] His vision for renewable energy is believed to be far ahead of its time.

When Tanti founded Suzlon Energy, the wind energy market was dominated by global majors and characterized by expensive and complicated technologies that were largely unviable for traditional businesses. Early life and personal
Tanti was born on February 2, 1958 in Rajkot, Gujarat, to Ranchhodbhai and Rambhaben who belonged to a family involved in farming as well as business. He has studied Commerce and Mechanical Engineering. [8]
Tanti has four siblings – 3 younger brothers who are his partners in various functional capacities at Suzlon and allied companies, and a younger sister who is married and resides in the USA. His wife, Gita, is a homemaker. He has two children — Pranav and Nidhi. Tanti loves travelling, meeting people and learning about their cultures. He also enjoys reading technical publications.
Career

Presently, he serves as Chief Promoter of Suzlon Energy Ltd., and has been the Executive Director since December 1, 2000. Tanti has over 25 years of experience in various technical and commercial areas. He is also the President of Gujarat Chapter of Indian Wind Turbine Manufacturers Association.
