Gelugor or Glugor now (named after Asam Gelugor, also known as Gu-Lu-Goq (牛汝莪)[1] in Hokkien and Northern Malay) is a suburb located at the southern part of Georgetown.
Gelugor is a suburban area midway between Georgetown and Sungai Dua. It is located near some of the state's prominent landmarks, such as the Penang Bridge [2][better source needed] and Universiti Sains Malaysia [3][citation needed].
