Edit warring over city 'name'

I've suggested to a few editors that they should come here to discuss the continual addition of the alleged name of this city being 'Amaravati' or 'Amaravathi'. The edit warring has to stop. Even semi-protection has not worked entirely as some of the accounts are now wp:autoconfirmed. 220 of Borg 02:02, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@220 of Borg:There is no official news about the city name. No gazettes have been released till now. They are adding those names based a newspaper article.--Vin09 (talk) 09:48, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I understand. Possibly the best that could be said is that the proposed name is Amaravati/Amaravathi? 220 of Borg 12:32, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Proposed merge with Andhra Pradesh Capital Region

We have three articles all dealing with the same fundamental point, ie: that some sort of new capital city will be built. Since the specific proposals - location, name etc - are at present in their very early stage, and since we have WP:CRYSTAL and WP:NOTNEWS also, it would be better if they were all brought under one heading. I'm proposing merging Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority to that target also, at least until things settle down. Sitush (talk) 04:44, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Oppose I respect your view. Andhra Pradesh Capital Region Development Authority do exist as of gazette released on dec 31 2014. Also, about capital and region both are pretty different. For these also gazettes available from the government sites. It is not WP:CRYSTAL because that would apply only if the things were assumptive. Here the capital is declared and the bill was also passed in the state assembly. Only the thing is construction of buildings and government offices are not there. But those things are nothing to do with the topic. The topic is about Capital officially recognized by government. Any comments.--Vin09 (talk) 09:45, 4 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Some sort of merging is necessary. There was agreement in principle for this at WT:INB. I'm not fussed exactly what goes where but there are around four articles all dealing with fundamentally the same thing. It is the usual story of clueless contributors rushing around doing things that they should not do per WP:NOTNEWS. - Sitush (talk) 02:54, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Sitush: You are a senior editor, you know better with your experience. I obey on your sentence of some sort of merging. I'll help if anything from my part is necessary. Thanks.--Vin09 (talk) 07:36, 8 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Requested move 18 April 2015

The following is a closed discussion of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on the talk page. Editors desiring to contest the closing decision should consider a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

The result of the move request was: not moved. Number 57 21:12, 25 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Andhra Pradesh Capital CityAmaravati, Andhra Pradesh – The new capital is named after this name. So, move this article to Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh and the existing village article to Amaravati, Guntur district. Ref- new capital name, ref2, ref3, ref4. Vin09 (talk) 16:56, 18 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

  • Comment The destination is taken with a separate article and an RM discussion has not moved it yet. Please in future can people combine such move nominations rather than risk contradictory consensus. Timrollpickering (talk) 12:06, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
  • Oppose. What a mess... outstanding proposed merge, and this move would overwrite another good article. Please let's have a centralised discussion? Meantime just close this RM as not at all helpful I think. Andrewa (talk) 22:41, 4 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The above discussion is preserved as an archive of a requested move. Please do not modify it. Subsequent comments should be made in a new section on this talk page or in a move review. No further edits should be made to this section.

Move subsequent comments

@Andrewa: If that is not possible, it can be moved to the page namely, Amaravati, Andhra Pradesh capital.--Vin09 (talk) 10:57, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

@Philg88: But Amaravathi, Andhra Pradesh is a village, while Andhra Pradesh Capital City was named as Amaravathi too. The above example you mentioned has a separate article for a capital i.e., New Delhi. There are two articles Delhi, New Delhi.--Vin09 (talk) 11:40, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, I know. Andhra Pradesh Capital City, also known as Amaravati Capital City should solve the problem with the appropriate redirect. Note that this is a separate article from Andhra Pradesh Capital Region.  Philg88 talk 13:45, 31 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Philg88:Yes, AP capital region is a separate article.--Vin09 (talk) 03:11, 1 June 2015 (UTC)[reply]
@Jenks24:The page was moved from Amaravati (Capital city) to Amaravati (State capital). Is the naming ok?--Vin09 (talk) 15:53, 16 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

list of images

These are the list of images sir, I wish to add them and create skyline image, tell me what you wish to delete in these.

  • Front_view_of_Amaravati_Gopuram.jpg (within city)
  • NTR Bus Station in Guntur.jpg (nearest major bus station to AP secreteriat)
  • Amaravati buddha.jpg (cultural site)
  • GntDistCourt.jpg (district court - currently only court for the capital city)
  • Kugler Hospital, Guntur.jpg (iconic hospital near to capital city) Rangasthal (talk) 08:39, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
NTR bus station, Kugler hospital and and the district court belongs to the city of Guntur, Amaravati statue may also not be added, but it has become an icon of the core capital, so as of now till structures are built it is ok to add, temporary secretariat is also fine, Amaravati gorpuram is situated in Amaravati village can also be added.Vin09(talk) 08:42, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
sir, the entire Amaravati mandal, Andhra Pradesh comes under the https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Andhra_Pradesh_Capital_Region#Fully_included_mandals Rangasthal (talk) 08:46, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Yes you are right, so I think it may also be not added.--Vin09(talk) 08:49, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
mastaaru, simple question, the entire Guntur District is also a part of Amaravati capital city ? kugler hospital, and Guntur bus stand come under Guntur district right ? then why cant we include them? just asking Rangasthal (talk) 08:50, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
@Rangasthal: I've started a discussion at Talk:Amaravati (state capital). Guntur district is a part of APCRDA not a part of Amaravati (state capital).--Vin09(talk) 08:52, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]
Gachibowli is (serlingampally mandal of RR district) is also part of Hyderabad capital city, the same logic applies here, even though Telangana Secreteria
They were merged in GHMC, a part of Hyderabad city municipal corporation. Amaravati 217sq.km. area was de-notified as an Urban Area and will become Nagar panchayat or municipality, it is the main core city. The Guntur district and Krishna district areas were a part of APCRDA, larger Metropolitan region.--Vin09(talk) 09:02, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

what about mangalagiri town skyline ? I think we can include it Rangasthal (talk) 08:58, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Please do not start new sections, continue in the same section, I'm getting edit conflict errors. To be clear please check Amaravati_(state_capital)#Jurisdiction, you can add whatever images you have in this table. Remember not the whole mandal for Mangalagiri, but only Krishnayapalem, Nowlur villages images if you have.--Vin09(talk) 09:02, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

This montage perfectly fits the bill. I need your help to combine this montage into a single skyline file (example - Hyderabad montage-2.png)

Rangasthal (talk) 09:15, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'd suggest some corrections, if you take my words positively, the temple I think is of Amaravati village, as it is already placed in Andhra Pradesh Capital Region, you can try them there. So, only Velgapudi secretariat, include Prakasam Barrage, as it is a located at Undavalli, a part of capital city and Krishna River if possible. Buddha statue can be added as it is an icon for the capital--Vin09(talk) 09:20, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Tadepalli Residential is also fine.--Vin09(talk) 09:24, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

How about this

can u make these a single skyline file Rangasthal (talk) 09:26, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

I'll do it but needs some time. If you can try it out, add images in paint and place images together to combine them. Also, remember when you upload it in commons, please provide the permissions and the author names, from where you found them. Thanks for being cooperative and discussing. Hope you continue to edit wiki.--Vin09(talk) 09:30, 15 June 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Article Redundancy

Guys Amaravati -> Amaravathi -> Amaravathi (Historic Town) and Amaravati (State Capital) are all one and the same. These articles should be merged in to one single article. "Amaravati" without "H" is the correct spelling. There are zillion sources which spell it "Amaravati"(Even the state government spells it Amaravati which should treated as statute). I see so many inept and irrelevent discussions on both the article's talk pages where people are trying to push their agenda and point of view and try to confuse the reader due to their prejudices.
