"The Internet Is Here" is a song written and recorded by British YouTube duo Dan and Phil to raise money for Stand Up to Cancer UK,[1][2] a charity that raise money for cancer research. It was released on 12 October 2016 on YouTube[2], iTunes[3] and Google Play[4].
Background
Dan and Phil were on their first ever headlining tour which is called "The Amazing Tour Is Not On Fire"; they sang the song at the end of their show and fans loved the song. So Dan and Phil had decided to record the song and make it into their first single and to also promote cancer awareness by donating all the profit that they made from this song to the UK charity, Stand Up to Cancer.[1][2]
Commercial performance
"The Internet Is Here" debuted on the iTunes UK Songs Charts at number 24. That was its highest peak and it charted for 5 weeks.[5] Also the song peaked on iTunes at number 37 in the United States[6], number 64 in Germany[7], number 74 in Italy[8], number 36 in Canada[9], number 63 in Spain[10] and number 4 in Australia[11].
On December 15th, 2016, on a live show on the site YouNow, they showed a gold record disc given to them by Stand Up To Cancer for the sales of the song.[12]
