Help me with a help me

A user, Dpm12, posted a message on my talk page about having his edits reverted by IPs. I have tried to help him, but I think that it would be more helpful if a more experienced user could help them or help me help them. Hopefully I will soon be experienced enough to deal with this kind of thing myself. RileyBugzYell at me | Edits 00:25, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

RileyBugz, I've semi-protected the article to stop isp editing. The general standard of referencing is so low I'm not surprise there are disputes about content, even IMDB isn't RS. It would be helpful too if Dpm12 would provide edit summaries to his edits. I think you have handled this appropriately; without admin tools there is little you can do that doesn't drag you in too, other than posting warnings, thanks Jimfbleak - talk to me? 06:51, 27 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Query

User:Mohamed Dekkak/sandbox has been deleted i want to create the page as same as Bilal_Abdallah_Alayli. bother persons are the same, please help me in this regard — Preceding unsigned comment added by Mohamed Dekkak (talkcontribs) 06:42, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mohamed Dekkak, thanks for message. You can sign your comments automatically using four tildes ~~~~. Please add your messages to the bottom of the talk page, or they may be overlooked. I deleted your article because
  • it did not provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that you meet the notability guidelines. It is now Wikipedia policy that biographical articles about living people must have independent verifiable references, as defined in the link, or they will be deleted. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to you, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what you claim or interviewing you. Your references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting.
  • You should not write about yourself
  • Bilal_Abdallah_Alayli is poorly written and a not a good model

Some queries

I had added an article for GA yet noone has started reviewing it ? How much time does it take for review? Who reviews GA? Article name Mother Teresa--✝iѵɛɳ२२४०†ลℓк †๏ мэ 09:57, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

User:Tiven2240, you can see the nomination dates for each candidate, some may be there for months, just depends who fancies reviewing it. The actual review doesn't take very long
Any editor can review any article, but experience is expected. If an article is passed by a new(ish) editor, or is otherwise not properly scrutinised, it can be recalled for reassessment.
If you have a peer review open, you must close it now it's at GAN. Use the time to polish the article. FWIW, I never review GAN these days Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:18, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
OK i closed the peer review. just have a look Here something has gone wrong? Was there any misunderstanding? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Tiven2240 (talkcontribs) 15:21, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]
I don't know what you are asking me. The article history shows all recent edits by the account name Jimfbleak - talk to me? 15:28, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

You deleted a page that I put up

First and foremost it is not advertisement, secondly, there are various sources and articles for this entertainer online. As I've explained before, to another member of wikipedia my user name is the same as the page due to the fact that I'm new to wikipedia, and initially thought that I had to use the name of the pages I wanted to create. This person is also linked to several other individuals that has wiki pages, and has global notoriety. She's even had a television show aired in 27 different countries. Here's a link of her being mentioned in 2011 http://nehandaradio.com/2011/12/22/red-rat-set-to-infest-kwekwe-tonight/ here's another link with her on iheart radio https://www.iheart.com/artist/dj6pac-30628779/songs/party-hard-feat-red-rat-pascalle-38086867/?autoplay=true. I have flowed this artist for some time now, first encountering her when she spoke at our school. She's a philanthropist, has worked with many grammy winning artist and producers, she's a singer, song writer, and I'm sure much more. I would appreciate it if you can kindly undelete the page, and if there's anything that sounds like an advertisement, the necessary changes can be made. I look forward to hearing from you. --Pascallemusic (talk) 20:28, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Mentions and play listings are useless. We need articles that discuss her in some depth in order to have an article. —Jeremy v^_^v Bori! 20:34, 28 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Victory Media

Victory Media plays a prominent part in the US military, as it is distributed throughout military installations, at all military transition classes and VA hospitals. Its Chief Operating Officer was recently the highest ranking enlisted officer in the US Navy. Many large companies have received "Military Friendly" designations that Victory Media created and use this for their promtions. Their Military Spouse Magazine already has a Wikipedia article. An article would also include controversies about the company, about how it works as a lead generator for low value for-profit colleges. http://www.huffingtonpost.com/davidhalperin/military-branded-websites_b_9131742.html 96.93.147.49 (talk) 17:00, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

96.93.147.49, you don't appear to have edited an article with that title, and no article with that exact title has ever been created. You only make a statement, I can't see a query or request. Please clarify. I'm signing off shortly, so probably won't respond to any further message until tomorrow Jimfbleak - talk to me? 19:28, 29 December 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Hey there. I'm thinking of nominating this GA for FA status. I looked at the FAC page and it said if I want to nominate an article for FA status for the first time, I would first need some mentoring. Can you check the article and see if it's good enough for FA? If not, what else can be improved? Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 00:28, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Narutolovehinata5, the edit summary shows that there are other editors who have made significantly more contributions than you.
  • The first question you will be asked is whether you have consulted them about nominating for FAC. If the leading contributors are active and agree to the nomination, you should ask if they wish to be co-nominators.
  • If it remains a solo nomination, are you able to address all issues raised? In particular, can you access all the sources, and is your Japanese good enough?
  • I'm no expert on this topic, so I would basically be looking at text and referencing issues, not comprehensiveness. I think we need to sort out the two points above, though, before I comment in detail, but just glancing through, I'm surprised to see Amazon, a commercial sales site, complete with prices, used as a reference. I think that's a non-starter.
Let me know when you have sorted out the first two points, and I'll go through in detail Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:13, 1 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Hey Jim, thanks for taking a quick look at the article. For what it's worth, here is my response. Artichoker[talk] 03:36, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
Artichoker, thanks. As mentioned bove, even a cursory glance showed referencing issues, and although it has potential, I don't think that Narutolovehinata5 should nominate as it stands Jimfbleak - talk to me? 07:15, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

The article that was deleted is a major African culture website with millions of readers, has launched the careers of many successful (and Wikipedia "notable") artists and is absolutely notable enough to be included in Wikipedia. A lack of knowledge concerning African culture is not a reason to speedily delete major publications for not being "notable".

C.Fred agrees that this page was incorrectly deleted: "Personally, I don't think the speedy deletion criteria were correctly applied; however, I think it was an innocent error and not the result of any bias on the basis of race or geography." C.Fred (talk) 01:02, 2 January 2017 (UTC), in message left at User talk:JuliaCameron[reply]

As this article in The Economist describes it: “After promoting successful, Grammy award-winning American hip hop and soul artists like The Roots and Erykah Badu for more than a decade, the Brooklyn-based online hip-hop community OkayPlayer now has a sister site called OkayAfrica that promotes African musicians in similar genres. Unlike Africa Unsigned, OkayAfrica is not a standard record label, but it has committed $500,000 to developing an online platform for such artists as Seun and Femi Kuti, K'naan, Bajah + The Dry Eye Crew, and Afrikan Boy."

Also, this story for WNYC: "“Okayafrica is a project from the roots, the legendary hip-hop crew, and it's a terrific way for people who are hip-hop fans but don’t actually know very much about Africa to get introduced to what's going on in an incredibly diverse musical culture and in some cases, actually, get tied into the politics. So you find yourself reading on okayafrica about Senegalese hip-hop and you very quickly find yourself reading about a group called Y'en a Marre, which is an activist group made of Senegalese journalists and rap stars who managed to mobilize 600,000 youth voters and ousted Abdoulaye Wade and brought in Macky Sall and, before you know it, you’re sort of nose deep in West African politics”"

More sources can easily be found to further solidify the notability of OkayAfrica in Wikipedia. — Preceding unsigned comment added by JuliaCameron (talkcontribs) 01:46, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Please reinstate page as soon as possible so further sources can be added to cement this as being notable. Thank you. JuliaCameron (talk) 00:48, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

JuliaCameron, since C.Fred has requested it, I've restored the article. Please note the following
  • I see on your talk page that you took considerable persuading to remove an accusation of bad faith from this page. If you look at the top of User:Jimfbleak, you will see links to my deletion and block logs. I don't suppose it will change your mind, but you can look for any bias in there, it's all available to check
  • The deletion tag was removed by User:SamanthaPower for whom this was her only edit. Note that inappropriate use of multiple accounts or encouraging others to tag edit are not permitted, and can lead to a block.
  • If you have a conflict of interest when editing this article, you must declare it. If you work directly or indirectly for the organisation, or otherwise are acting on its behalf, you are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing. If you are paid directly or indirectly by the organisation you are writing about, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:JuliaCameron. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=JuliaCameron|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If you are being compensated, please provide the required disclosure. Note that editing with a COI is discouraged, but permitted as long as it is declared. Concealing a COI can lead to a block. Please do not edit further until you respond to this message.

Please undelete this article as it had formerly survived an AFD and is ineligible for speedy deletion. per WP:CSD, If a page has survived its most recent deletion discussion, it should not be speedy deleted except for newly discovered copyright violations and pages that meet specific uncontroversial criteria; these criteria are noted below.. 103.6.159.76 (talk) 09:44, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]

It reads like company spam, but I noticed that another admin had declined a G11 speedy recently, so restoring on that basis. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 14:15, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
huh, looks creepy, but the 103.10 IP that made the CSD request is not the same person as me, despite the similar IPs. BTW, the latest AfD for the article, Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Aakash Educational Services Limited (2nd nomination) closed as keep so CSD can't be used at all (as Ad Orientem correctly noted in the revert of the CSD tagging). 103.6.159.76 (talk) 15:04, 2 January 2017 (UTC)[reply]
