Copris caobangensis, the material of this species was collected in Pia Oac Nature Reserve, Caobang Province, Vietnam at an altidute range of 1210 -1230 m for the first time in 2017 by a Vietnamese entomologist, and was described as a new species in 2018. [1][2]
