Climax is a 2018 French musical horror film written, co-edited and directed by Gaspar Noé, and starring Sofia Boutella. The plot centers on a troupe of hip-hop dancers experiencing a bad trip after accidentally ingesting psychedelics.

Release

The film screened in the Directors' Fortnight section at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival where it won the Art Cinema Award.[4][5][6] Afterwards, the film was acquired for release in the United States by A24.[7]

Reception

On review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes, the film holds an approval rating of 89%, based on 49 reviews, and an average rating of 7.7/10.[8] On Metacritic, the film has a weighted average score of 83 out of 100 based on 18 critics, indicating "universal acclaim".[9]
